Jameson held his girl in his arms, hardly believing that this was his life. To think he might never have experienced this again, might have spent his life cold and alone.

He heard nose from the outer room. Jack and Ian were back.

Ian peeked into the bedroom, the hard expression on his face softening as he took in Maggie.

Jameson slid off the bed, careful not to wake her and moved out into the living area.

“How did it go with our girl?” Ian asked as Jack handed him a beer.

Jameson shook his head at Jack as he held a beer out to him. “Good.”

Jack scoffed. “Just good?”

“Better than good. We are . . . she wants . . . um . . .”

“Shit, man, spit it out,” Jack said.

“She wants me as well,” Jameson spat out. “Are you both still okay with this?”

“Fucker, I basically threw you at her,” Jack said.

“As long as she is good with this, we are,” Ian added seriously.

“But hurt her or upset her again, and I’ll remove your fingernails while Ian sings karaoke,” Jack said.

“Hey, my singing is not torture,” Ian complained.

Jack just grinned at Jameson and that last bit of heaviness left him as he smiled back.

“Then, yeah, things are great,” he replied. “We didn’t . . . uh . . . I Topped her because she needed it and so did I. But we haven’t gone further.”

“You haven’t tasted her pussy yet?” Jack asked. “Jeez, you have some self-control.”

“Jack,” Ian groaned.

“How was it at the apartment?” he asked in order to change the subject.

“Bad.” Ian frowned. “They were living in one of the shittiest areas in the city. It was a tiny two-bedroom apartment with a crappy lock. Pretty much everything was destroyed. We were able to pack up some clothes and photos, but that was it.”

“We paid the landlord off and grabbed the small amount of stuff we could salvage. But she’s not ever going back there,” Jack told him.

“Neither is Indie,” Ian said.

“What should we do about Indie?” Jameson asked.

“We could bring her back to Escana,” Jack suggested.

“Is that what you think she’d want? What Maggie would want?” Jameson asked.

“I think Maggie wants to take care of everyone else around her, which means she always puts her needs last,” Ian grumbled with a frown.

Yeah, Jameson would agree with that.

But she should still have a choice. So he’ll make it easier on her.

“If she wants to stay here, I’ll quit my job and move,” he said.

Ian looked surprised, but Jack gave him a nod of respect.
