“Good? No, I’m better than good. I’m so happy, I could burst.”

“Tink?”

Isabelle looked up as Loki walked into the room. She glanced out the window. Shoot. When had it started to grow dark?

She was sitting in Loki’s office trying to sort out all of his paperwork. It was such a mess.

It was Friday. A week since everything had gone nuts. Since Shawn assaulted her and was arrested. Since she’d fainted.

She’d had a meeting with HR yesterday where she’d told them that she was quitting. The owner of the company had even turned up and tried to convince her to stay. But she was done working for them. She wanted to spend more time baking and being with her friends.

But mostly, she wanted to spend time with her men.

And Loki really did need her help. He was going to pay off her student loans and he’d very sternly told her that she was no longer paying rent or bills. That had led to a bit of an argument, which had turned into some really hot sex.

Remy had moved in. He had a bit of a commute, but Clint had agreed to him reducing his hours. Today, he was working a bit later, though, to catch up on a few things.

“What’s up?” she asked.

“Just got a call. A few hikers have gone missing and they want me out there to see if I can find some signs of where they’ve gone.”

“Go! Go.”

“Remy won’t be here for another hour, at least.” He shot her a pensive look.

They hadn’t left her alone this whole week. And she’d loved having them around. But this was important. And she was fine. Xavier said it would take a while for her iron levels to get better. But he’d done some further tests and hadn’t found anything to be worried about.

The B12 injection she’d had in her butt hadn’t been fun. But when Loki had gotten her home, he’d laid her on the island and eaten her out until she’d come three times. Then promised to do that each time she got an injection.

So that made it better.

Shawn had been released on bail. Which was part of the reason for the guys being so overprotective. But he seemed to be lying low. Same with Gary. He’d confessed to slashing Loki’s tires and discharging a shotgun on private land.

He hadn’t even tried to enter the Wishing Well last night. And apparently, every store he’d tried to enter in Wishingbone had turned him away. He was persona non grata in town and it might be petty of her, but she was happy as hell about it.

Hopefully, he got the idea that he wasn’t wanted in Wishingbone and left.

But he was a dumbass so she wouldn’t hold her breath.

“I’ll be fine. I’ll finish up this paperwork and make him eggs and toast for dinner.”

“Wait for Remy to come home and cook,” Loki warned.

Remy made sure their cupboards were always full and he usually cooked. She and Loki weren’t complaining.

“I will.”

He kissed her goodbye. “Love you, Tink. I’ll call when I can.”

“Love you too. Be safe.”

They were meant to be finishing off the treehouse that weekend, but that might need to wait now.

After he left, she continued on with her paperwork until she heard something at the front door.

“Is that you, Daddy?” she called out.
