“Fine.”

Chuckling, he ties the blindfold around my eyes, then slides my helmet over my head and secures it in place for me. The air shifts as he climbs onto the bike, and I feel the loss of his body until he reaches back for me. Using my hands to guide me, I slide into the spot behind him and wrap my arms in a death grip around his midsection.

There’s no way I survived all that I did, just to die falling off the back of a bike blindfolded today.

“Hold on babygirl,” he laughs as he takes off and I squeeze tighter.

The ride is long, much further than anywhere we normally go, and the air gets colder against my skin the longer we ride on the bike. I have no idea where we are going, but my ass is starting to go numb, and I can’t shift my weight.

“Are we there yet?” I whine loudly.

“Almost,” he shouts over the roaring engine.

In no time at all, the terrain changes. It doesn’t feel like we are on a flat road anymore, it’s bumpy and I’m seriously concerned I might fly off the back of this thing. Crunching, like that of gravel against concrete echoes through the air. Are we off-road?

The air gets cooler and I swear I smell, salt?

Is that salt?

Finally he pulls to a stop and cuts the engine. He slides away from me leaving me a bit nervous, but his hands wrap around my waist quickly as he slides me off the bike next. Sliding the helmet off my head, my hand immediately moves to the blindfold.

“Can I take this off?”

“I guess,” he answers in a suspiciously mischievous tone.

Yanking the blindfold down around my neck, I’m confused at the sight before me. We’re at Declan and Echo’s house, there’s a floral archway of sorts near the cliffs, and everyone is here. Fucking everyone.

Riot, Zeke, Mimi, Rico, Cole, Hannah and the brothers, Declan, and a visibly pregnant Echo.

“I - I don’t understand,” I whisper.

“Come on babygirl, can’t be late to your own wedding,” he smirks as he laces his fingers between mine and pulls me toward everyone.

When we reach the group, he stops, presses a kiss to the back of my hand and walks to the floral arches. I open my mouth to speak but I can’t get out any words before he’s too far gone. Looking around in utter shock and confusion, the realization settles in when Rico walks up to me, lacing his arm with mine.

“I hope you don’t mind, but I uh, I wanted to be the one to give you away,” Rico whispers as a tear rolls down my cheek.

“Is this real?” I turn my head to face him.

“It is my girl,” he says, swiping the tear away. “Are you ready?”

“As I’ll ever be.”

Music starts playing from somewhere behind me, and Rico walks me toward Travis who’s grinning from ear to ear like a fucking lunatic, and it’s so goddamn adorable.

When we stop in front of Travis, Rico presses a kiss to my forehead, before the old man takes his place in front of us both, clearly doing double duty as an officiant.

“A-are you, serious?” I whisper, looking up at Travis.

His honeyed brown eyes peer down at me, full of so much emotion. The Travis I know now and the Travis I knew then, now one and the same.

Rico says some words that I don’t even hear through the thumping of my heart between my ears. He pauses and waits as Travis fumbles in his pocket before pulling out a small box.

“Spencer Rae, you’re my entire world. A long time ago I put my mom’s ring on your finger and I promised you forever. There might have been a lot of fucking detours on the way to forever, but I meant it.”

Opening the box, he pulls two rings out, “See, now I have these rings right here. One for me, one for you. And this time I’m not making a promise for forever. I’m making a vow for all of eternity.”

Hot tears stream down my face and I nod my head, because I know what he means. I understand it all. The difference between forever and eternity. Forever would never be enough for us.
