The vulnerable look on his face wasn’t one I’d ever seen. I moved towards him and placed my hands on his chest. His skin was cold for once.

“Of course. I love you, but I want to be your partner, not your possession.”

He nodded, closing his eyes and dropping his forehead to mine.

“We need to talk about the jealousy.”

“No,” he mumbled.

“No?”

“I’ll never not be jealous of other men around you.”

“You don’t trust me?”

“It’s them I don’t trust.”

“Could you try?” I blinked at him, and he grumbled, looking up at the sky.

“I’ll try.”

“What if we have a warning system?” I grinned at him, already feeling lighter.

“A warning system?” He raised his eyebrows.

“Yeah, like a yellow card, red card.”

“I’m not letting you talk to Albert again.”

“Why? He has the best ideas.”

He curved his good arm around me. “What’s the punishment for being sent off?”

“No sex.”

“Harsh.”

“It would hurt me too,” I admitted because he had turned me into a raging nympho.

“Oh yeah?” His lips curled up.

I was glad the desolate look in his eyes was gone, replaced by mischief.

“I’ll call things off for the weekend.”

I stared at him. Was that what I wanted? Now I knew he would put it off for me.

“Well…”

“You’re killing me, a chuisle,” he groaned.

“I’m sorry; my head is a bit messed up. I think I just wanted the choice.”

He barked a short laugh. “Okay, that makes very little sense.”

“It makes sense to my girl logic,” I grumbled.

He stepped back and dropped to one knee.
