“Thank you.”

The golden-haired guy stepped forward. “Congratulations. I’m Oscar, and this is my wife, Eve.” His posh voice was easy on the ear.

“Sir Oscar.” Sean tucked me under his arm.

Oscar rolled his eyes.

“I heard you were studying dentistry,” Eve said.

“Yes, there’s been a bit of disruption, but I’m returning in two weeks.” I grinned at Sean.

“I bet it got disrupted. We’d love you and Rada to come sometime for a girl’s night.”

Sean stiffened next to me. “At Steel Tower?” he asked.

“I’d love to,” I interrupted.

“We’ll need to work out security—” he began.

“Do you need that red card now?” I whispered to him, but evidently not quietly enough because Liam’s fist flew to his mouth, stifling a laugh.

“Did you just red-card him?”

“I’ll pass their numbers through,” Sean said, cutting him off with a glare.

Chloe and I giggled.

“How the mighty fall.” Liam winked.

“I’ve got some good stories to tell you about those two eejits,” Sean whispered as the Steel Brothers and their other halves moved away.

I blinked up at him, and he winked at me.

Cat came over cautiously. A man in a suit followed her at a distance, and Sean tracked his movement.

“Thank you for coming.” I hugged her. “Are you okay?”

Cat glanced around nervously. “Is the guy who helped me here? I wanted to say thank you.”

“I’m so sorry about the flat,” I said, guilt flooding me.

“It’s okay. I’m staying at a nice place.” But her tone didn’t indicate that; she seemed sad and defeated.

“Is everything okay? I can help you if you need it,” I whispered to her.

She eyed Sean warily. “No, it’s honestly fine. I’m just tired. Finals are kicking my butt.” She offered a wane smile. “The guy… Craig, I think.”

I pointed to Craig who was still wearing his sling but insisted on working. Except for now-dead Cian and his two accomplices, Sean’s men seemed unfailingly loyal and keen to prove they had nothing to do with Cian and Declan’s treachery. Declan had killed two men and knocked Craig out to sneak me and Rada back out of the compound. He got in because his security access had never been disabled. Sean had overhauled the security, and it was like Fort Knox now.

“Thank you.” She smiled at me and gave Sean a frightened look as she left to walk over to Craig.

“Is she in trouble?” I asked Sean.

“No.”

I frowned at him.

“Later,” he told me, reminding me we were, in fact, at our wedding.
