“Do you think?—”

“No. I believe my wife.”

Of course he did.

“Who does Viktor say this woman is?”

“His wife,” Loch said.

A lead weight dropped into my gut. “Jesus wept.”

37 EPILOGUE

One year later

“Your two o’clock is here.” The receptionist, Avery, brought in a clipboard, and I frowned at her.

“Was it a last-minute booking? There was a gap.”

When I checked at lunchtime, I swore it wasn’t booked. I had almost asked Avery to ring my later patients to see if we could shuffle them forward so I could get home early.

“A last-minute booking.” Avery smirked at me and left.

I glanced at the names on the papers and smiled. Sean O’Sullivan.

Poking my head out the door, I spotted my husband. His presence dominated the waiting room, and a few of the women waiting were casting him speculative glances.

I caught his eye, and he smirked at me, his dimple popping out.

“I have an appointment with the best dentist in the country.”

I rolled my eyes at him.

“This is a woman-only practice,” I reminded him.

It was his rule, after all.

“In that case, I’m here to see my wife.” He grabbed me, kissing me in a completely inappropriate display for the waiting room.

Avery snickered behind her hand as I pulled away. I grabbed his suit lapels and dragged him inside.

“I like this aggressive dentist role-play.” He grinned, pressing me against the counter and kissing me again.

“You can’t just book yourself into empty slots.”

“This was my slot. I paid to keep it open. It’s a year today since we met.”

“I know that. I have a special dance planned for tonight.”

He groaned as he ground his erection against me.

“I couldn’t wait.”

“We aren’t having sex here with patients outside.”

He nibbled on my ear. “I’ll eat you out.”

“No.” I giggled at his ticklish kisses. “It’s better if you wait.”
