In the past five months, I’ve gotten used to sleeping in the bed with Cam and Alexsei there, too, but I haven’t quite gotten used to the way they’ll prioritize me even when what I need isn’t about Luna. But I’m getting more used to it all the time. Because it happens over and over.

This time it is about her, though.

I clear my throat. “Let’s check out the back, but I don’t think this is going to work.”

Cam lets me lead the way, but he accompanies me to the back of the cabin. I’m hoping that the back entrance is a little more welcoming.

It is, barely.

I open the back door and step inside. I’m immediately met with a musty smell and heavy humid air.

“Fuck.” I run a hand through my hair. “There’s no way we can stay here.” I walk further in and see one area of the living room ceiling where water has clearly been leaking with every rain storm and as snow has melted.

“Okay, what do you need me to do?” Cam asks.

I turn to him. “I need you to take over,” I say.

And it doesn’t hurt at all.

It hasn’t taken me long to let go of the need to fix everything. I’m the one who steps up most of the time. It’s just what I’m good at. I almost always have the answer, no matter the issue, question, or problem. It’s the way I like it, and they’re all comfortable with it. But we’ve figured out where we all fit and how we work best together.

“What do you want me to do?” Cam asks. “I’m not great with power tools, as you know. My mom wasn’t the fix-it type and I just hire people to do that kind of work.”

I do know that. I don’t think Luna is the only one in the family who gets a little turned-on when I put my tool-belt on.

“I would never make you do something like that,” I tell him with a grin. “We just need a new vacation. And quickly. You’ve got contacts and big ideas. Can you come up with something? Maybe a swanky hotel up here somewhere? Or we could find another nice cabin to rent?”

It’s really last minute though, so I’m not sure even my billionaire buddy can do this.

“How about Paris?”

I stop in the middle of the living room and stare at him. “You came up with that fast.”

“Luna’s mentioned how much she’d love to see Paris before.”

I frown. “Why didn’t you bring that up when we were discussing this trip?”

“You already had a plan in mind and this idea was yours and Alexsei’s,” Cam says with a shrug. “We can do Paris any time. But if that’s a good backup now, I can make it happen.”

I’m still getting a little used to the lack of competition between the three of us. The only time it really comes up is in a playful, sexy way in bed and it’s always because it’s extra good for Luna.

“Huh. Paris is pretty different from this.” The rickety roof of the cabin creaks again.

“But can you imagine our sweet little baker in Paris, among all that amazing food and all those sweets? Macarons and eclairs everywhere?” Cam asks, grinning.

I can. Luna would love Paris. God, I’d love to see her face as she goes from fancy bakery to fancy bakery.

“Let’s do it,” I say.

“Great.” He pulls out his phone.

It really is that easy with this guy. He’s got the money, the connections, the private plane hookup. We really can take Luna to Paris today.

I look around and shove my hand through my hair. “Sorry this fell apart.” Another gust of wind whips around the cabin, there’s a loud creak, and then I hear something fall against the side of the cabin. Or off of the cabin? I grimace. “Literally.”

“It’s fine. We’ll let you plan Christmas,” he says, looking at his phone as he swipes over the screen.

I perk up. “Really? I can plan Christmas?” I know I sound more excited than I should, but I’m already thinking about how to get Christmas organized with all of the people that need to be included.
