She decided if she wasn’t allowed to lie, it’d be best if she didn’t say anything at all about it.

“Thank you. These are beautiful.”

“My pleasure.”

It was almost five when they finally pulled into his garage.

They walked into the house, and she immediately found a vase and put the flowers in some water. Phoebe went out her doggy door and Liam disappeared while she found a suitable windowsill for her little herb garden. If they got home early enough tomorrow or sometime this week, she’d find a good place to put it on the patio.

Observing her bounty from the day, she found herself appreciating Liam’s generosity. Even if he was just her temporary Dom/host.

She heard Liam’s footsteps as he came back into the room and turned to ask him, “Are you ready for dinner, Sir?”

He cautiously approached her and gently pulled her into his arms and kissed her temple.

“Little busy bee, you should relax. I know you have a big day tomorrow. Why don’t we order in tonight so you can take it easy.”

Utah shook her head. “I’d like to make dinner for us.”

“Whatever you want to do, baby. Just don’t feel like you have to. If you change your mind, my credit card is in my wallet—order whatever sounds good. I’m going to get a little bit of work done until dinner’s ready.” Liam kissed her forehead. “Thank you for being a good girl today.”

She tilted her head in confusion. “How was I a good girl, Sir?”

“You were upset with me but didn’t lash out, even though you wanted to.”

Boy had she wanted to.

“Thank you for apologizing. And for the beautiful flowers and herb garden.”

“I would have bought you a lot more if you’d have wanted, princess.”

“I know, and I appreciate it—really. But there wasn’t anything I needed.”

He stared at her for a beat, then said, “Let’s sit in the hot tub after dinner with a bottle of wine. I’ll rub your”—the corner of his mouth hitched before he finished his thought— “back, and help you relax.”

She hadn’t been that nervous about starting her job tomorrow, but that was the second time he’d mentioned she should relax tonight to prepare for tomorrow.

“What time do I need to be ready to leave in the morning?”

“I think if you’re ready by eight, we should be fine.”

That gave her plenty of time to get ready in the morning.

She pulled away and turned toward the kitchen pantry.

“Let me start dinner. Any requests?”

“Everything you’ve made so far has been delicious. I’ll leave it up to you.”

“I’ll come find you when it’s ready.”

“I appreciate it, baby.” He paused before turning to leave. “Little bee?”

Utah glanced over at him with raised eyebrows. “Hmm?”

“I’m glad you’re here.”

Damn him for making me swoon, again!
