Luna
Tonight is my oyster.
A night filled with endless possibilities and a chance of a lifetime I’ve been waiting for since forever.
My heart skips with every step I take toward my parents’ guest house.
Tonight, I, Luna Bianchi, will finally become a woman when I give myself to Ryan Neilson, the man I love.
Ryan is three years older than me. We’ve known each other since we were kids, and in all my twenty-two years on this earth I’ve been crazy in love with him.
Growing up, we were inseparable, but things changed after Ryan enlisted in the Army and I went to Harvard.
Life changed again for us two weeks ago when Ryan returned from the Army after an eight-year service.
When I saw him at Christmas he gave me my first kiss and promised we’d talk about our relationship properly the next time we saw each other.
That was eight months ago. Next time officially began twenty minutes ago when Ryan's car pulled up on my parents’ drive.
He’s staying in the guest house tonight, which is perfect. It’s just after eleven thirty, so he definitely won’t be expecting me. I hope my visit will be a nice sexy surprise.
I’m so excited to see him that not even the messy little raindrops trickling down into my just-done hair can rattle me. This is still the perfect night, and I can’t believe my luck in having Ryan all to myself. A rarity that’s never happened.
Two hours ago Dad called to let me know his flight from DC had been delayed, so he and Kimberly, my stepmom, wouldn’t be home until morning.
That call was like a sign from the universe telling me to carry out my plan to give Ryan my virginity tonight. Fate screamed at me to strike while the iron was super-hot.
If all goes to plan, giving myself to Ryan will be one of the biggest life-changing things to date that I’ll get to cross off my bucket list.
So here I am, walking down the garden path to what I know will be the start of my happiness.
Ryan’s family lives in Vermont now, but he’ll be moving back to New York because his dream is to go into politics like Dad. My father is one of New York’s most high-profile senators. As luck would have it, Ryan will be working with Dad at his office in the city. More importantly, it means I’ll get to see him all the time.
He’ll also be doing some fundraising work at the office, so I’m praying that means I may see him even more at Aspire, my mother’s charity. I’ve been working there every summer for the last couple of years, but now that I’ve graduated I have a full-time position in the fundraising and marketing department. The very department Ryan would need to liaise with on any potential ideas and activities.
Things couldn’t be more perfect.
And it all starts tonight.
I just hope he still wants me. He has no idea what I’m planning or even that I saved myself all these years for him.
I know he's definitely not a virgin. Women throw themselves at him all the time, but I have to believe he’ll want me for me.
Tonight I went all out.
I’ve got my long black hair down in beach waves that make me look like I’m ready to frolic on some exotic Island. My eye makeup is a smoky gray to bring out the bright blue of my irises, and my lips are painted a sexy shade of ruby red.
The killer, however, is what I’m wearing—or rather what I’m not.
I decided to be brave by wearing my black mac and six-inch heels.
That’s it. Beneath the mac I'm completely naked.
I plan to strip for him. Nothing will show him how I really feel or how serious I
am about him more than that.
