It won’t happen now. Now that everyone knows the truth.

Mission accomplished. Dominic Bianchi has been eliminated, and there is no coming back from this.

Luna glances at me with tears in her eyes. I can see she’s about to fall apart, so I pull her into my arms and hold her.

During this time, I know that all I can do is be there for her as her husband to protect her, love her, and help her heal with my love.

Being Luna’s husband is the most honorable title I’ve ever held.

I wear it with the greatest pride, and I plan to be by her side, loving her, until I draw my last breath.

And even after that.

Chapter 34

Luna

Three weeks later

Iwalk down the long gray corridor of Attica Correctional Facility with two guards on either side of me.

This is my father’s new home. The place he’ll reside until the day he dies.

With so much evidence against him out in the open for all to see, he had to confess to his crimes.

Dad confessed to killing Mom, and just like Layla said, he killed her before I found her. I saw it for myself.

The time Mom supposedly spent away with Aunt Bessie was when Dad and Kimberly tortured her.

It was Dad who told us Mom was with Aunt Bessie. Neither Layla nor I thought to question it at the time because we had no reason to.

On the night I found Mom, Dad and Kimberley had brought her back to the house and created the scene of her fake suicide for someone—aka me—to find her.

I don’t know who in their right mind would think that was okay, but that’s what they did.

Along with Mom’s murder, Dad also confessed to arranging for Kane, the hedge fund analyst, to be murdered a few weeks ago. There were several other people who I don’t know who Dad arranged to be killed in the same manner.

In addition to murder, he’s also being charged with money laundering, embezzlement, fraud, association with drug cartels, and this list goes on and on.

As Kimberly was right alongside him, she’s just as guilty and was taken to a women’s correctional facility, where she, too, will reside for the rest of her life.

I won’t be visiting her. I have no need to see that woman ever again.

I shouldn’t even be here to see my father, but I needed closure.

Hunter is outside waiting for me. He wanted to come in with me, but this is something I want to do on my own.

He was against me coming here today, but I had to do it.

After I cried out all the tears my body could produce, I realized that I needed to close the door completely on my father and erase him from my mind. To do so, I needed to see him face to face so I could look him in the eye and ask the last few burning questions on my mind.

I haven’t seen my father since the night we exposed him. Prior to that, it was at that dinner at his home where he was telling me how proud he was of me.

That night, I left him on such a positive note. I never knew what lay waiting for me just around the corner.

We approach the visitation room, and I’m led inside.

I see Dad sitting behind the glass cubicle wearing orange scrubs and handcuffs around his wrists.
