My temper flares but I do my best to keep myself under control. “How long ago was that?”

“About half an hour. They just went out to the garden.”

That motherfucker.

I glance at Asher and Luc who know right off the bat that I’m not going to be okay with Luna and Ryan going off somewhere in this hotel together.

I push to my feet and tighten the reins on my temper. The last thing I want to look like is the jealous, paranoid fiancé. “I’ll go see where she is, then we may head home. It’s getting late.”

“Of course, sweetie. Have a safe flight tomorrow.”

“Thank you.”

I give her a quick hug then nod to my father, Asher and Luc, who are all staring back at me with expectancy.

I leave, and as I head out I think of how many things a person can do in thirty minutes. Thirty minutes and counting.

A virgin could certainly lose her v-card to the man I’m reminded yet again she loves.

And why wouldn’t she? If given a choice she would give it to him no matter what we said to each other last week. Luna has loved Ryan for a lot longer than she’s been mine.

Being here is also the perfect opportunity for them to be together. Luna won’t see Ryan again in a setting like this where they could escape virtually unnoticed.

That asshole was probably waiting for her to be away from me so he could have her. What better chance to get to her than when she was with my mother?

I reach the garden but don’t see them.

It’s not until I turn by the fishpond that I spot them in the rose garden.

Ryan has his hand on Luna’s cheek and is way too close to her for my liking.

I march toward them like I have a drill sergeant from hell up my ass, but they don’t see me.

“You have no idea what this meant to me,” Luna says to him when I get closer. The emotion in her voice grips me, flaring my rage. And my jealousy. “There’s no one like you, Ryan Neilson. I’ll always cherish you.”

Something inside me rips. It feels worse than anger and like I may lose my fucking mind.

Ryan leans in as if he’s going to kiss her.

Would she let him?

For a moment I feel like I’ve been shunted back in time to all those years ago when I walked in on Alexis and Jackson having sex in our bed. Unlike that time, I don’t wait to see what they’ll do next.

“Hey!” I shout out so loud the sound of my voice rattles the wind chimes in the trees.

Luna and Ryan jump apart then look at me.

Ryan has the audacity to glare at me as if he’s ready for a fight. That’s no problem; I’ll give him one. This motherfucker could have served in every army on this earth and I’d still take him.

“Thought I told you not to touch her,” I continue.

“Hunter, stop it,” Luna cuts in but I shake my head at her.

“Don’t. You knew I wouldn’t be okay with you sneaking off with him at our fucking engagement party.”

Guilt washes over her face. “I wasn’t sneaking off.”

“Don’t explain yourself to him, Luna. You have a mind of your own.” Ryan sounds more ballsy than I’ve ever heard him. “And this fucker can’t tell me or you what to do.”
