“Gmphf, I think it’s time that both of you get a taste of my whip when we get home. You have given me more than enough reason to—”

“Deal,” Keith laughed with delight. “You can whip us to your heart’s content, but for now, get the fuck in here!”

Kevin stood on his knees next to the gurney, embracing the two people he loved more than life itself. Fate had taken an almost fatal detour, but, in the end, love conquered all.

“We have a question to ask you, Babygirl,” Kevin said in a thick voice. He cupped her cheek as he brushed the tears from her cheek.

“Anything, Daddy,” she said with a beatific smile that gave her an angelic glow.

“Will you marry us, Aria? Become our wife, permanent Babygirl, and mother to our children.”

“Oh God,” she wailed as she teared up again. “Why can’t I stop crying? I never cry!”

“Hmm... not exactly the answer we’re looking for, so I guess—”

“YES!” Aria caught Kevin’s face and kissed him over and over as she mumbled, “Yes, yes, yes, a thousand times yes! I will marry you, Kevin and Keith Frazer, and be your wife, Babygirl, and the mother of your children.”

“Good,” Keith said. “Then I suggest we get out of here and start working on those babies.”

“Forget it,” Kevin said sternly. “You just got hit by a bullet in the chest with a velocity that could’ve made your heart stop, so you’re going to take it easy.”

“Oh, I’ll take it easy. I’ll just be at the bottom, and you and our Babygirl can do all the work.” He smiled wickedly. “Besides, I don’t need my chest to make babies, and the appendage that does is completely intact. Tonight is the night, Kev. We’re making a baby!”

“Good Lord, we’ve created a monster,” Kevin said but couldn’t stem the smile that spread over his face.

“Oh, I don’t know, Daddy.” Aria winked at him with a saucy look on her face. “I’m game if you are.”

“I guess this is a battle I’m not going to win.” He shook his head.

“Very well... let’s go make a baby.”

The End
