My irritation remained expertly veiled behind my friendly smile and voice.

The sight of Hanna still brought memories of the night two days ago crashing into me, but it wasn't anger or anything akin to it. No, whenever I'd get flashbacks of that night, all I could ever picture was Hanna's sweet face and delicious body. Then, after a brief bliss of a release from getting myself off imagining myself in the position of the man, my irritation would finally rear its ugly head the moment I realized the problem between Hanna and me.

A file of Logan Lockwood sat locked in my desk ever since that night. Everything about him at my disposal and abuse when I decide to act, if I act. Hanna hadn't been out again ever since that night, much to my delight. From what I've observed, it has been work and home for Hanna for the past two, nearly three days. At least having a simple routine made tailing her easy, but I doubt it would stay simple for long from how smiley she was being.

"No, Dad, I didn't sneak a snack. Just got a little problem figured out between my friend and I, that's all." The gall of this woman to lie to my face with a cute, innocent smile.

Okay, she didn't fully lie to me. She didn't sneak anything before showing up to work; that was genuine, but the part about her friend was a lie from the slight falter in her voice paired with her downturned eyes. Hanna had never been shy about naming anyone in conversation, even if she barely knew them. So, for her to elude me like that meant something was up.

"What friend?" I pressed with a smile, leaning against the edge of her desk with my arms crossed after sliding the little container filled with steamed buns.

"Just a friend." Yeah, something was definitely up. "That smells good, what is it? It doesn't smell like pirozhkis."

I would've accused her of changing the subject if I didn't know about her short attention span and how easily distracted she was as a person. No matter, it was too adorable and kept my irritation from rising because if we dug into the subject matter of her friend, then I would end up upset.

"Open it and see for yourself." I encouraged her with a chuckle while lightly pushing the container closer.

Eagerly, she opened the box with an excited grin, squealing softly with a clap of her hands and bouncing in her seat. "I've been craving these so badly. Is this just a coincidence or can you read my mind?"

"More like I can listen to you muttering to yourself about wanting to get some steamed buns the past three days." That and seeing her browse countless places for steamed buns whenever I'd glance at her from my desk or over her shoulder.

"Thank you so much." She spared me a quick, grateful glance before happily digging into the fresh, meat-filled buns.

After the first bite and some chewing, she leaned back in her seat, covering her mouth with her hand. "Holy shit, these are amazing, where the hell did you get these?"

A slow sigh of relief deflated my body when it was clear the shocked look on her face was a good one. Good to know I didn't fuck up the food.

Smiling teasingly, I reached out and pinched her stuffed cheek softly. "That's for me to know and you to find out, if you can."

"That's not fair, I can't let you buy me food all the time like this." Hanna pouted after swallowing her mouthful.

"You can and you will. I like spoiling you and making sure you are fed, happy, and healthy." I already enjoyed cooking as a hobby, but cooking for Hanna was a new enjoyment I looked forward to every day.

Yes, all the little breakfasts I've given her so far were nearly all made by my own hands in my kitchen. It was only the first few times that weren't because I had yet to get into the new habit of preparing food for Hanna.

"Well how the hell am I supposed to keep myself satisfied without you? You can't keep buying me food once you get a girlfriend or boyfriend to spoil." She retorted with a small scoffing chuckle filled with malice.

Amused, I returned her little chuckle with my own. "If that's what you're worried about then it's a simple fix." Pausing briefly, I leaned down until our faces were a few inches apart. "If you're my girlfriend then I get to continue spoiling you."

As if I'd entertain another woman when I had Hanna to hunt. No other woman could live up to her or come close to captivating me. No matter how good-looking or desirable, the sight of other females almost repulsed me because of the vice grip Hanna got me in. Other women didn't ignite an uncontrollable blaze of passion and lust within me anymore, but one glance at Hanna was all I needed to teeter on the edge of losing all my control.

If only Hanna could see and accept it all, but the nearly mocking laugh from her made it clear to me that she didn't or won't.

"Stepan, boundaries." She reminded me with a sad smile.

"Are meant to be broken." I added with a smirk before pulling back.

Oh, they'll be broken alright, broken and shattered beyond repair. Fuck her stupid boundaries, respectfully. This was the only boundary of Hanna's that I would ever overstep to open her eyes and heart to me, to us.

"But fine, I'm sorry if I'm pushing. You enjoy your breakfast, I have some work to do." Work as in figuring out a way to hack her damn phone and plot out my next steps regarding her.

Chapter 20

Stepan

THUNK!

Hopefully, Logan has more functioning brain cells than what I'm willing to credit him for and take my warning seriously. He's already been stupid enough to go on not one, but two dates with Hanna so far over the past week. Actually, three counting the one they were currently on while I busied myself with leaving Logan a kind warning at his door after breaking into his place and trashing it before leaving some roadkill I found scattered around his place. I might've also hidden some in places that'd take him a while to find, as in after they filled his place with the stench of death and decay.
