My descent down the stairs of Logan's apartment complex took no pause when I pulled a phone out of my pocket when I felt it go off.

Thanks for dinner and dessert tonight. We should do it again sooner than later :)

Anything baby girl ;) but yeah we definitely should, you're the best dessert ever btw ;)

You don't taste bad yourself hehe ;) can we shoot for this Sat at Guilty?

Oh? You wanna do all that already?

Why wait on something good? Besides, I'm still calling your bluff lol!

We'll see how much of it you'll be calling between begging me lol.

Oh honey, I don't beg. I never beg for what I want, I just take it ;)

Good luck taking anything when I've got you bound and helplessly spread beneath me on the bed lol.

Good luck getting the ropes or cuffs around me in the first place buddy lol!

Buddy? Am I going to have to teach that sweet mouth of yours another lesson?

Can't be ANOTHER lesson if the first one didn't even stick hahaha!

I'm gonna have to beat that brattiness out of you.

Good luck lol! Well, I'm gonna get ready for bed and sleep, I've got a long day at work tomorrow.

Alright, sleep well baby girl.

Bile choked at my throat as my eyes read the messages on the tightly clutched phone in my hand.

Baby girl? Seriously? Out of all the things he could call her, that's just… No.

Seeing him call her that really pushed my control to not throw up because of how cringy and disgusting it felt. I don't know why he keeps calling her that either because she obviously didn't like it from the subtle shiver and flash of a frown I caught when I watched their date yesterday. Could he not see her displeasure at the nickname? Also, why hasn't Hanna flat-out told him about her dislike for soft little pet names?

Hanna hated the cliché terms of endearment, not all but most. She hated it when men would call her sweetie, sweetheart, cutie, cutes, and just anything soft sounding because it made her feel like a soft girl and not a strong woman. She verbally made her detest known to me after breaking the jaw of a guy who tried—and failed—to get her number and got a little too handsy.

She much preferred old-fashioned endearments, simple and not sappy ones, or something unique and personal like my little nickname. When I pressed, she didn't say she hated the nickname I gave her.

Tigress fit her quite well, given her level of cunning and danger. I only called her little tigress to get a bit more of a rile out of her and for sweeter, softer moments as it seemed fitting.

Hopefully, this stupid engagement of theirs will stop after Logan comes home tonight and finds the warning I—literally—stabbed into his door.

No more about him tonight; I've got better things to give my attention to.

The drive to Hanna's place sped by with how fast I drove. After parking the car a good half block from her place, I made the rest of my journey to her window on foot. The rickety ladder of the fire escape creaked and gave under my weight as I made my way up the thing warily. How the barely functional thing still stood after a few uses befuddles me. What few remaining rusted rungs seemed to be barely welded on, and I don't even know if the thing was properly attached to the building. I don't know how this damn fire escape came close to passing inspection.

Thankfully, her balcony was shaded enough to provide the perfect amount of darkness for me to sit undetected until daylight breaks. Although the flaw worked perfectly for me, it upset me greatly because of the thought of anyone else using this flaw to watch her. She didn't have functioning blinds or curtains, which meant the window of her fire escape remained wide open for any peeping Tom to view.

As I situated myself at the corner of her balcony, keeping myself entirely in the dark, the phone in my pocket went off again. Pulling it out, I could see it was an incoming call from Angel. I watched Hanna carefully, watching her search her little area for her phone before picking it up.

The call on the screen of the cloned phone in my hand picked up, and I held it to my ear, listening in on the conversation between Hanna and her friend Angel. Was this a complete violation of her privacy? Yes. Illegal? Very much so, yes. But I didn't give a single care because I needed to know every little thing that went out and came in with Hanna now.

Remaining quiet, I locked my eyes on Hanna, letting my blue orbs follow her enchanting body as she moved while talking to her friend about her date earlier tonight.

"Hanna honey, as happy as I am for you to somewhat find someone, I'm not because I can tell you're not fully genuine about this dude. Now, don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with exploring and shit, but you and I both know who you round back to at the end of the night. So, why are you wasting your time on this bozo? Not saying he's not worth the time, he sounds and seems like a great guy, just not a great guy for you." Angel's long, heavy sighs between her sentences were clearly heard on the other end. She sounded done, disappointed almost, though she sounded forced as if she tried to see the other side for her friend's sake.

"But you and I both know Stepan and I could never work. So, it's fine, I can settle." Hanna's voice dragged with disappointment and sadness, making me frown in the darkness as I continued to eavesdrop on their conversation.
