“This is the princess we’re talking about?” Austin asked.

Of course he’d told Prez about Janel and what he’d learned. Full disclosure was the only way to keep his brothers safe. That was a no pass law everyone followed. However, he’d fucked up by not coming directly here from the diner. The Luciano family in their town was big news. His jaw tensed thinking of that slime being anywhere near Janel. “Yes, I don’t think today was his only visit with her. I think we should put a couple of guys on her. Her security detail are jokes. They may be efficient in their country, but here they don’t cut it.”

Austin leaned back in his chair. “I had a call a couple of hours ago from the son. Demonte. That’s who was with the princess, right?”

Dozer’s blood began to heat. “Yes, the demon. Why the fuck did he call you?”

“He wants to meet.”

Dozer’s blood pressure rose to new heights. “It’s a fucking trap.”

Austin appeared to consider the possibility, but shook his head. “I don’t think it is. He’s leaving the where and when up to us. He’s coming here. Tonight.”

“Here?” Dozer asked, already wondering what Demonte’s angle was. He didn’t like the man and he certainly didn’t like the way he looked at Janel.

“He’s coming here, under the radar. He’ll be alone and he wants to keep the meeting undercover. I’m sending everyone but the officers home.”

“I don’t buy it. He could be distracting us to take Janel. A princess on the black market would fetch a fortune.”

“So bring her in. The compound is the safest place for her,” Austin replied, as if it were that simple.

Janel in his world? Fuck, no. “Not a good idea.”

There was no way he wanted his dirty on her and that’s what would happen if she walked in the doors to the compound.

Austin crossed his arms over his chest. “You’re comfortable with her being at home with her security?”

Hell, no. “I’ll be with her.”

With a shake of his head and a snide grin on his face, Austin changed all his plans. “No, you won’t. Luciano requested your presence tonight.”

That was the last straw. “What the fuck? Who does he think he is, making demands. And why are you letting him?”

Austin’s eyes hardened. “Are you questioning my leadership?”

“Never,” he quickly replied. Austin may be his best friend since the age of twelve, but Dozer also respected the man as his president. “It’s just that…”

“You’ve got feelings for the princess,” he filled in, making Dozer give up the fight. At least to Austin.

Dozer met his friend’s gaze. “Even if I did, nothing can come of it.”

“Don’t sell yourself short, Dozer. You’re one of the most loyal men I know.”

Was he the only one that saw the impossibility of starting anything with Janel? Not that he wanted anything. His relationships consisted of fucking and that was all. Every woman he was with knew she’d never have a seat on his bike. Janel’s pussy was no different than any other bitch’s. “Don’t really matter. She’s nothing to me.”

“Then you won’t mind if she stays here in your room.”

Before he bought his house, he had a room at the compound where he’d lived since he was eighteen. While he stayed mostly at his house, he did sometimes stay over. He was getting ready to tell Prez he didn’t care if she stayed when the man tacked on, “I can get Eagle to watch over her while she’s here.”

The hairs on the back of Dozer's neck bristled and he snapped, “I’ll be the one to look out for her.”

Prez grinned. The ass knew he’d proved a point. “Go get your girl and get back here. We’re meeting Luciano at midnight.”

“What do we do with her security detail?”

“Do you mean to tell me you can’t shake ‘em?”

“Of course I can. I’m more worried about her father calling the POTUS to alert the National Guard when they can’t find her.”
