Its design was elegant, almost bird-like, yet exuding an aura of raw power.

“That’s a Zephyrian scout ship,” I noted, my heart racing. “It’s one of the fastest vessels in the known galaxies. But getting to it won’t be easy. The security systems on those ships are top-notch.”

Emilia’s eyes gleamed with a combination of mischief and determination. “Guess it’s a good thing we have you, then.”

I smirked, appreciating her attempt to lighten the mood. “And it’s even better we have you,” I replied, nodding towards the guards patrolling the ship.

Their armored suits hinted at advanced tech, likely loaded with sensors and alarms.

We needed a plan, and fast.

My gaze locked onto a cluster of fuel containers nearby. “How about a little fireworks show?”

“You’re going to blow them up?” she said, shocked.

“Not me. You.”

She looked at me uncertainly. “What do you mean? I don’t have a lighter on me.”

“You don’t need a lighter. You are the lighter. The Vendikar have a similar ability to the Zephyra. You can form darkness and light.”

She shook her head. “No, I can’t do that. I can’t do anything like that.”

“Believe me, you can,” I said. “Just look inside yourself. Feel it beneath your skin. While they’re distracted, I’ll work on unlocking the ship. But remember, we won’t have much time.”

She took a deep breath and looked at me with uncertainty before rolling up her sleeves.

I could see the faint blue glow beneath her skin, the transformative energy of the Vendikar poison working its devastating magic.

“All right,” she said. “I’ll try, but I don’t think—”

With focused intent, she reached out, channeling her newfound power.

The fuel containers started to vibrate, an ominous hum filling the air.

Suddenly, a massive explosion rocked the spaceport, sending guards scrambling towards the source of the disturbance.

Emilia staggered slightly, the exertion evident, but she managed a triumphant grin.

Without wasting a moment, I dashed towards the scout ship.

Utilizing my specialized tech, I interfaced with the ship’s systems, rapidly inputting override codes.

The ship’s defenses were formidable, but my determination fueled my efforts, fingers dancing over the alien controls.

Alarms blared, red lights flashing as the ship’s security recognized the intrusion.

My heart raced, knowing that Emilia was vulnerable out there.

Just as I was about to lose hope, the ship’s hatch hissed open, granting us access.

“Mayn!” Emilia called out, sprinting towards me, the guards hot on her heels.

“Get in!” I shouted, pulling her aboard.

The ship’s engines roared to life, an exhilarating surge of power beneath us.

The vibration of the ship’s systems humming to life reverberated under my feet as I frantically made last-minute adjustments to our flight path.
