“That is so mean.”
He pouted at Kody whose grin only seemed to widen.
“I’m not riding bitch,” Kody said and before Ace could protest, he added, “But you can.”
Ace found himself blinking at Kody, his brain not processing that information at all.
“Wha…?”
Kody took the helmet out of Ace’s hand and winked at him before pulling it on and securing the chinstrap.
“You get to be my bitch,” Kody said and though he was clearly just joking, Ace thought to himself that it was true. He was Kody’s bitch, and he really fucking liked it.
He shook his head and put on his helmet, watching as Kody swung his leg over the bike. Ace followed, sliding on behind him. It took him a second to figure out where he was supposed to put his feet and in that time, Kody had the engine running and made the bike jump forward, leaving Ace cursing and grasping onto whichever part of Kody he could reach.
Kody’s very insincere, “Whoops,” made him drop his helmet against Kody’s with a groan.

Ace was… he was so fucked where Ace was concerned. The man had turned out to be the opposite of what he thought he wanted and everything he desperately needed.
He hadn’t ridden a bike in a while. Ruben had never been too fond of it or him riding in general, so he’d ended up selling his bike two years ago to buy a bigger car. One with room enough for car seats. Just thinking about it made him so fucking angry. He’d given up so many things for Ruben and he was starting to realize that no matter what he did, he would’ve never been enough for Ruben.
His helmet was a bit too tight but that made sense since Ace had only been with women before and had probably only ever had a woman behind him on his bike. It made him sad that he didn’t have his helmet any more. Back when he’d first sold his motorcycle, he’d kept all his gear, but then Ruben had claimed that it meant he was planning on going riding behind his back, so he’d reluctantly sold it all. He was regretting that majorly right now. Mostly because he was hoping he and Ace would be repeating this moment many more times.
Hands slipping under his jacket had his lips quirking. He doubted riding bitch had been on Ace’s agenda for the day, but he’d graciously agreed even after Kody teased him. Ace was everything Ruben wasn’t and more. He had a suspicion that losing Ace would hurt more than losing Ruben had. A lot more.
He pulled into the diner’s parking lot and Ace held onto him until he shut off the bike. He tapped Ace’s thigh to get him to dismount and he was pretty sure he heard a grumble or two as Ace got off.
Kody pulled his helmet off and watched as Ace took his off too. His hair stood on end and his face had a lovely red tint to it. He chuckled as he got off the bike and handed Ace the keys. Ace put his helmet on the seat, so Kody put his helmet there as well before turning to Ace.
Ace wrapped his arms around Kody, slipping his hands into the back pockets of Kody’s jeans. Kody grinned at Ace who shook his head while sucking on his teeth.
“The things you make me do,” Ace said.
Kody slid his hands up Ace’s chest, gaze meeting Ace’s sparkling blues.
“Baby, I’ve barely started.”
Ace lowered his head, nose brushing Kody’s before he pressed their lips together. Ace moved back way too fast, making Kody chase his lips. Ace just smiled against his lips, so he pulled back with a huff. He looked up at Ace and the amusement shining in the man’s eyes did funny things to his heart.
“How long have you been riding?” Ace asked.
Kody tried not to smile as he said, “It’s been a few years.”
The outraged look on Ace’s face made him hold back his laugh but when Ace sputtered out obscenities, he burst into laughter.
“I had my first bike straight outta high school,” he said.
Ace narrowed his eyes at him. “Let me guess: sports bike?”
Kody nodded while his grin got wider and wider.
“Jesus.” Ace shook his head. “You’re tryna kill me aren’t you?”
Kody pressed his lips together as he shrugged, chuckling when Ace grabbed him to pull him close and press his face into Kody’s neck.
“Who’s the mean one now?” Ace mumbled.
