“I did fucking tell you,” Olivia yelled back.

“Oh, fuck you. No, you didn’t.”

“You both shut up,” their mom snapped.

While Addy managed to get them to quiet down, the girls didn’t stop giving each other deadly looks.

His phone buzzed and when he saw the text from Chris, he felt a thrill run through him.

“They’ve got a lead,” he whispered to Kody.

Kody’s face lit up. “The girls?”

He nodded, excitement churning inside him.

“I’ve gotta go, though,” he said and pressed a kiss to Kody’s lips.

“Be careful,” Kody said.

“Careful isn’t really my style, but I’ll do my best.”

Kody’s gorgeous smile took his breath away.

Kody grabbed him by the shirt and tugged him back down for another kiss. He was grinning against Kody’s lips the whole time.

When he pulled away, he reached up to brush Kody’s hair out of his eyes, then turned to leave.

“Where are you going?” Kody’s Mom asked, giving Ace a suspicious look.

“Uh…” he glanced at Kody, then back at her. “I would just come up with something stupid that you won’t believe anyway, so… Kody will explain.”

This way, he didn’t end up stuck with an outrageous lie and Kody got to decide how much he wanted them to know.

He mouthed, “Sorry,” to Kody and took off for the front door.

He made sure to stop by the gas station before he met up with the others. Despite Texas handing over the bike with a full tank yesterday, he didn’t want any surprises considering what they were likely going into, and he didn’t know this bike very well yet, either.

They were all getting ready at the clubhouse and as he drove into the courtyard, he loved the sight of all his brothers gearing up and getting ready to go save some lives. While he knew they weren’t doing this for him or Kody, it still felt like it, and he appreciated it so much.

He’d just shut off his bike and was taking his helmet off when Chris walked up to him.

“You made it,” Chris said.

“Like I’d miss it. What do you know?”

“Auggie traced the car back to where they were keeping the girls.”

“Were?”

They weren’t there anymore? Chris’ text said they had a location?

Chris nodded. “Yeah. I take it when he didn’t show up with Luna, they found out about the crash and decided to move. Smart, but they weren’t smart enough.”

“Auggie found them?”

“Oh, yeah.”

He gave Chris a clap on the shoulder and said, “Then what the hell are we waiting for?”
