“Oh. Right. That’s why I’m here,” Ace stuttered out.

Kody put his fist over his mouth to keep from laughing.

“Well, thank you,” Ace said and stuck his hand out.

Kody pressed his lips together and shook Ace’s hand, which of course led him right back to his earlier thoughts because he could feel the calluses on Ace’s hand against his palm and it didn’t help that Ace was gripping his hand hard. He was holding on just firmly enough that?

He pulled his hand free and took a step back before he got caught fantasizing about the man’s hands.

“You’re welcome. I almost said anytime but, please don’t go crashing your bike again.”

The red returned to Ace’s cheeks, and he gave Kody a bashful smile.

“I’ll do my best,” Ace promised.

He watched Ace walk toward his bike and tried very hard not to look at his ass. It wasn’t easy. It looked damned good in those jeans.

He felt someone walk up next to him and didn’t have to look to know who it was.

“You should tap that. He’s definitely into you.”

“He’s in a gang,” Kody said with a shake of his head.

“I told you to fuck him, not marry him,” Cora said.

“I know you’re into the whole bad boy thing, Cor, but I’m not.”

Cora arched a brow at him, her lips lifting at one corner in a wry smile.

“Baby, we’re all into bad boys. Just ‘cause you’ve had a bad man it doesn’t mean you won’t like some bad boy. Those two are very different things.”

“Ruben’s not a bad man,” Kody mumbled.

“Oh, but he is. That man threw away the best thing he ever had.”

She gave him a warm smile, a soft look in her eyes, and when she opened her arms, he stepped right into them. He put his head on her shoulder and let out a sigh.

“You’re only saying that ‘cause you love me.”

“Fuck yeah, I love you,” Cora said, pulling back to put her hands on his cheeks. “If you weren’t gay, I’d marry you in a heartbeat.”

He wasn’t sure Cora knew just how much she meant to him. He would’ve married her in a heartbeat, too. She was the best person he knew. The one who always understood him and had his back. She was his ride-or-die. She was his you-killed-someone-and-I’ll-show-up-with-a-shovel person.

“But I’m not a bad boy. You’d just get tired of me,” he teased.

Cora’s brows snapped together and she smushed his face as she said, “Were you not listening? Bad boys are for fucking. Good boys are for marrying.”

“I’m a good boy?” he asked, though it sounded more like, “Aigooboi?” because Cora was squishing his mouth.

“You’re the best boy,” Cora said.

A cough had them both turning their heads, Cora’s hands still smooshing his face. Ollie looked disturbed as he watched them.

“What the hell kind of fetish did I just walk in on?”

Kody tried to speak but Cora’s hands on his face kept him from moving his lips.

“Walk away, Ollie. Walk away,” she said.
