“I love you so fucking much. So much,” Ace babbled. “You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Kody brushed his lips against Ace’s. “I love you, too.”

Kody

He crossed his arms and raised his brows at Ace who was taking forever to walk down the stairs. Not that he could blame him. He was probably a little sore.

“We need to get going before your mom decides to adopt away both of us,” he said with a teasing smile.

Ace’s groan only made him laugh.

“She totally would, too,” Ace muttered.

Kody pulled on his jacket and zipped it up, then grabbed his helmet and keys.

When they walked outside, he had to stop for a second and admire the gorgeous metallic blue bike in his driveway. She was a beauty. She drove like a dream, too.

Ace had helped him pick her, or rather, he’d grumbled under his breath the whole time because he was getting a sports bike and not a Harley. Then he’d seen Kody on the bike and had changed his tune instantly. He may or may not have also bent Kody over the bike and fucked him into oblivion when they’d made a stop by the woods on the way home from the dealer.

He wasn’t complaining. He would never complain about Ace wanting him. He still caught himself wondering how he got so lucky. Ace treated him like a king, but he didn’t put him on a pedestal. To Ace, he was just his Kody.

He made sure their headsets were linked before they took off. Hearing Ace’s inner monologue was always one of his favorite parts of their rides together. It was almost like Ace’s thoughts just couldn’t stay inside his head when he rode. Every single thought came out of his mouth. He would happily shout, “Dog,” every time he saw one and when they had the music on, he would be rocking side to side on his bike or doing a little dance at every stoplight.

They pulled up to a red light and the car in the lane next to them had a bunch of little girls in it. The windows were down so he could hear them giggling and watched them point at him and Ace. He was prepared to give the girls a good rev when Ace finally noticed them and gave them a big wave.

“Hi, girls,” Ace exclaimed. “Look at them. They’re so cute.”

Kody shook his head with a low laugh that had Ace snapping his head toward him. Ace shrugged, then blew Kody a kiss.

Kody blew him one back, then took off ahead of Ace who realized too late that the light had changed. Ace tried to catch up, but he wasn’t letting off.

They were both laughing when they pulled up in front of Ace’s mom’s house. They parked their bikes, Kody teasing Ace about losing their race as they headed inside.

The second they were through the door, and he heard running footsteps, he was smiling. He turned and opened his arms just in time for Luna to crash into him.

Setting Luna and Eve up with Ace’s mom was the best idea Ace had ever had. Well, apart from crashing into his firetruck. He was pretty sure if he hadn’t, they never would have met and as such, Ace might never have saved them from the shooter.

They were still waiting to hear from the cops about the case and whether they planned on arresting and charging Ace, which was why they’d spent as much time together as they possibly could. They didn’t know if it would all be over soon. He really fucking hoped not. He couldn’t imagine his life without Ace in it.

They were sitting at the table eating his mom’s famous pumpkin pie when Eve woke from her nap. Luna went and got her and when she sat back down, he and Kody leaned over the table to see Eve. While Kody ran his hand over her hair, Ace had the privilege of having Eve grab his finger. Her fingers were so tiny and yet so strong.

“Did you find a date for her christening?” Mom asked Luna.

“I did, but she’s gonna need godparents,” Luna said and looked at Kody and Ace with a wry smile on her lips. “I want you two to be her godparents.”

“What?” Kody croaked out.

Ace sat back down.

He didn’t know what to say to that and found himself fiddling with his bracelet.

“You’re not just all I have. You’re the people I want in my life,” Luna said. She turned to Ace’s mom. “I’ve never had a mom before.”

“Well, you have one now,” Mom said and pulled her into a hug, her arm wrapped securely around Eve while she held them both close.

“Unlike those two buggers, your adoption is safe,” she said in a stage whisper, making Luna snicker. She tried to hide it with her hand over her mouth, but they saw right through it.
