Only I love yous.

You’re mine.

Always and forever.

I was in his arms…

I felt complete.

Sedated.

Happy.

He was supposed to be my Prince Charming.

My happily ever after.

My fairy tale.

And at that moment, it felt like my soul was still attached to his, and as much as I hated that, I also loved it. Because the truth was…

I missed him.

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

CAPRI

“Love is a thing that is full of cares and fears.” —Ovid

1 DAY INTO PRESS TOUR

I woke up with a blinding headache. This was why I tried not to drink wine. Despite it being a very expensive bottle, they always gave me the worst hangovers. Before I could contemplate my splitting brain, my phone rang.

I didn’t open my eyes to see who was calling, groaning, “Hello,” into the phone.

“Capri!”

“Mom.” I grabbed my head, feeling the effects of the booze. “Why are you yelling at me?”

“Young lady, you have a lot of explaining to do!”

“Please, Mom, stop yelling at me.”

At that point, all I could think about was the pain in my head.

“How else do you expect me to react? How could you not tell me that you were taking on Elias Sinclair as a client and not Mr. Ferris, Capri?”

I shot straight up in bed. “How do you know that?”

“The whole world knows that.”

“What?” I shook my head confused. “What are you talking about?”

“Exactly what I said. Elias was on This Just In, XM podcast last night.”

“I know.” I nodded even though she couldn’t see me. “I booked it for him.”

“You booked him on the number one podcast in the country for him to tell the world you’re not only his publicist but also his fiancée?”
