Todd's face contorts with distaste. Every bone in his running-to-seed body is searching around for a reason to put a stop to this. But he must notice how Carina has already morphed into a woman in the last few days. And a stunning one at that.
“Plus I have never seen Carina so glowing with happiness,” Mellie finally speaks, injecting a note of truth into the silence.
“I can promise all three of you, she will always look this happy. I'll dedicate my life to making that happen.”
“If this is what you want, Baby,” Todd tells her.
I know Carina has always gotten everything she wants out of the guy, based on the way he looks at her.
“It is, Daddy. It really really is.”
My old college foe, sticks out his hand to congratulate me and concede my victory at winning Carina. Mellie and Carina hug and do a bizarre little dance routine.
“Do. Not. Screw. This. Up,” Todd commands in his toughest voice.
Although I'm trying not to laugh at him doing the macho dad thing on me, I can guarantee with absolute sincerity that I will never do that.
