“We won’t be gone long,” Dylan assured.“We’ll have the afternoon and part of the next day before we have to pack up and head home.”

I took a sip of water to wash down the grief clogging my throat.

“No problem, Sir.Since my days of sleeping in are numbered, I plan on staying in bed as long as I can.”I forced a carefree tone, while inwardly starting to slap bricks and mortar around my heart.I was going to need those walls all too soon.

Nick held me with a probing stare. All the while, I prayed he couldn’t see the pain already seeping into my veins. If I could make it through the meal without my misery spilling over the table, it would be an Oscar winning performance.

The food on my plate made my stomach turn. The aromas in the diner now turned my stomach, and I’d barely touched my food.I hoped they wouldn’t notice.

Meg reappeared at the table, striking a seductive pose and batting her lashes.“Are you two handsome men ready for dessert? We’ve got some gooey pies with rich, creamy topping.”

I’d had enough.I couldn’t take another second of her shameless flirting and sexual innuendos.Especially when my time with Nick and Dylan was quickly coming to a heartbreaking end.

“No thanks, Meg,” I bit out.“Just between us,I’mtheir dessert, and I’m going to spoon feed them every inch of my body…all night long.Be a dear, and bring us the check.I don’t think I can wait another minute to feel their hot hands, slick tongues, and naked bodies all over me.”

“Rawwwwrrr.”Dylan smirked as Nick closed his eyes, lowered his chin, and shook his head.

Meg blanched. Her jaw dropped open in shock before she pressed her lips in a tight, angry line and raced away.

“That wasn’t nice, pet,” Nick whispered in that decadent, whiskey smooth voice.

“She wasn’t being nice either, Master. She was all but climbing into your lap.”

“Yes, but you’re the adult here, little one. She’s just a child.”

“She certainly isn’t acting like one.”

Between the judgmental bitch in the bathroom and Meg thePlayboybunny wannabe, my patience was shot.My hopes for a memorable night out had turned into a ghastly episode ofThe Twilight Zone.

Meg stood behind the cash register; her face bright red as she pounded on the keys.

“I’m going to go settle the tab.I’ll be right back,” Nick announced as he stood.

“I bet ten dollars she gives you her phone number,” I hissed.

Nick spun on his heel and turned.Bracing one hand on the table and the other on the back of the booth, he leaned in.“Put your little green-eyed monster away, pet. It’s unbecoming, and I don’t like it.She’s a child, and I’mnota monster.”

“I didn’t mean…”

“Hush. Not another word,” Nick bit out.Crushing his lips to mine with an angry kiss, he turned and walked away.

“I didn’t mean to suggest—”

“He knows.Relax.”As Dylan nuzzled my cheek, his warm breath spilled over the shell of my ear.

“I’m fine,” I murmured as shivers rippled through me.

“Not yet, but you will be as soon as we get you back to the barn,” he purred in my ear.

Panties flooding, I turned my head, then, without asking for permission, I kissed his lip, and welcomed his tongue.

“Ah-hem,” Nick cleared his throat.“You two ready to go or would you rather we get busy here on the table?”

Dylan swallowed my laugh as he reached up and pinched my nipple.

“Home,” Dylan mumbled against my lips.

Nick gripped my hair and pried me from Dylan’s mouth.
