I dried my eyes as they led me to the bed. After the three of us sat, Nick kissed my temple and cleared his throat.

But before he could speak, I began a speech of my own.“I know you’re disappointed and upset with me.I’m sorry I embarrassed you, and myself, by calling my safeword.”

“We are not disappointed, upset, or embarrassed, Savannah,” Nick thundered, cupping my chin.“We are relieved to know you won’t hesitate to use your safeword. That’s what it’s there for. But…”

There it was…a big fat uglybut.

I knew what was coming next.

“But you don’t want me as your submissive anymore, right?”I asked in a fearful whisper.

“What?”they asked in unison, slashing me with identical looks of confusion and shock.

“No.But I’m going to put a ball gag in your mouth if you interrupt again,” Nick growled.

“Grab a hammer so we can knock the insecurities out of her system, too.”Dylan scowled.

I closed my eyes, wishing we’d stayed home instead of coming to the club.Instead of them dissecting my fears, we could have been naked, making love until the sun came up.

“Think long and hard before you answer, Savannah,” Dylan continued.“Do you trust us?”

Yes, I did trust them, I just hadn’t shown it.I’d been too self-conscience to climb down off the ledge once I’d scaled it.

“Yes, Master.I trust you with my life.”

“If you trusted us, you wouldn’t have freaked out.You would have known that we’d protect you with our last dying breath.”Nick frowned.“We were going to block your body…keep you flush against the cross until the session was done before wrapping you in a blanket, and bringing you here…to this room.”

“We know your buttons, kitten. The fact you think we’d purposely push them during your first public scene confirms you truly don’t trust us.”

As an anvil of regret flattened my heart, I shook my head.

“Tell us what went through your head when you realized we’d removed your corset,” Nick instructed.

“I was floating, then suddenly, I was yanked back, but everything was foggy. It took a few seconds before I realized I was naked.I could hear people talking, but I wasn’t sure where I was.It was like…have you ever had one of those dreams where you’re standing in front of a bunch of people giving a lecture or something and you realize you’re totally naked?”

Nick smirked and nodded.

“It was like that, but I knew I wasn’t dreaming. What I didn’t know, because I couldn’t see anything, was if I was facing them, like in that messed up dream, or still facing the cross. Before I could figure that out, I screamed my safeword. It was a knee-jerk reaction, because I was scared.I’m sorry.”

“We’re sorry, too, kitten. We thought we had the scene under control…had you where we wanted…floating peacefully out in space, but we were wrong. We’re sorry.”

The remorse etching his face and slathering his words stabbed my soul.

“No.No, it was my faul—”

“Enough,” Nick barked.“We all fucked up, we’re all sorry, and we’re all responsible.Instead of sitting here apologizing, we need to implement safeguards so it doesn’t happen again.”

“How?”I whispered.“I don’t know how to stop a panic attack once it starts.”

Nick’s expression softened.“To make sure we don’t do anything to trigger that panic attack before it starts, little one.”

“Exactly.”Dylan nodded.“We’ll start by explaining everything, and I mean, everythingwe’re planning to do to you during the scene.”

“At least, in the beginning,” Nick interjected.“As time goes on, and your trust in us grows, we’ll toss in a few…surprises.”

“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, man,” Dylan drawled.“If that doesn’t work, we’ll scene at home, alone, and try again some other time.”

“You mean, we won’t be coming to club?”
