“Can I show baby Enzo all my friends?” Amara comes into view with stuffed animals shoved in her arms.

She drops them to the floor, and we spend the next hour listening to her introduce all her stuffed animals to Enzo. Clara eventually warms up to our new guests and volunteers to make dinner.

When Antonio returns home, he doesn’t look surprised at the scene. He has cameras in the house, so I’m sure he’s kept constant surveillance on us. Not to mention, Clara has kept her phone in her hands, randomly texting—my guess, providing him updates.

Antonio offers Bruno a head nod and says hi to Natalia.

“That’s Enzo!” Amara announces, pointing at him. “Is it my turn to hold him yet?”

“Yes, but be careful,” Natalia says as Antonio helps Amara off the floor and guides her to sit on the couch.

“Lord knows Cristian will definitely kill me if there’s even a scratch on that kid’s head when he leaves here,” Antonio mutters.

After we get Amara and Enzo situated, Antonio smacks a peck on my lips and tells me he’ll be in his office if I need him.

“I can’t wait until I get a baby brother,” Amara says.

“Same,” Antonio calls out over his shoulder while leaving the room.

“Are you happy, baby?” Antonio asks while joining me in bed.

I yawn loudly, exhausted from the day. “You went to my father.”

“I went to your father.” He tenderly pulls me into his arms, fitting me there perfectly.

I raise my head to meet his gaze. “Thank you, Antonio.”

He smooths his hand along my jaw and whispers, “Baby, you never have to thank me for anything.”

I softly brush my lips against his, and he lowers me to my back.

Then he proves further how much he loves to make me happy with his mouth between my legs.

EPILOGUE

TWO MONTHS LATER

The sun is overcast, and fresh air breezes by me as I stroll toward the courtyard.

I’ve enjoyed wedding planning with Rita, and I also love that Antonio has helped with decisions as well. Not many husbands do that. Since we were on a short timeframe, I did have to settle for some options.

One decision that wasn’t negotiable?

Having our wedding at the courtyard where I’d snuck away with Antonio at the masquerade ball.

I love that it’s different this time. We’re not wearing masks or hiding from the crowd.

We get to show off our love and have a real wedding.

Inhaling deep breaths, I concentrate on my feet. I’m no stranger to wearing heels, but no bride wants to fall and face-plant on her big day.

Although I’m pretty sure the award for Most Traumatic Wedding will forever go to Neomi.

Natalia and Aunt Celine trail me, carrying my gown train. It took two Italy visits to create my dream dress. The oneis elegant with lace, off-the-shoulder swag sleeves, and a laced corset back.

My heart swells with happiness when I spot my father waiting for me. Benny stands next to him. The initial plan was for Damien to walk Natalia down the aisle, but my father put a stop to that real quick.

“Over my dead body will the Lombardi underboss touch my wife,” was what he said before completely shutting down the idea.
