“Daisy,” he groaned.

And there was that. How could I not be lost in the way he said my name at a time like this?

“Forrest,” I panted, feeling myself on the verge of something huge.

He must have realized what was happening, because he picked up his pace. Over and over, he powered his hips forward, driving his cock deep inside and building us both up.

And then it happened.

Forrest lifted his stare to my face, and the look in his eyes was the last thing I needed to send me soaring.

A moan tore up my throat and escaped as each wave of my orgasm crashed into me. I did my best to hold my gaze on his, but the pleasure was too consuming.

But even if I closed my eyes, I didn’t stop feeling and listening to everything that was happening.

The sound of our bodies colliding mixed with the grunts and groans that came from Forrest as he worked us both through our orgasms was almost better than the pleasure he’d just delivered to me.

Almost.

And when he’d seen us both through to the other side, Forrest didn’t pull out and roll away.

He stayed right there with me.

He lowered himself down, his body covering mine, and his mouth began kissing the skin along my neck and my jaw, eventually making its way to my lips.

“You’re incredible.”

I smiled against his lips. “And I’m happy to report that real life Forrest is far better than dreamland Forrest.”

At my declaration, Forrest burst out laughing, burying his face in my neck.

I loved the sound, and I wrapped my arms and legs around him.

It took him a minute to calm down, and when he did, he turned his head to the side, pressed a tender kiss to my cheek, and said, “I’ve never been this happy, Daisy.”

Those words solidified it.

I thought what we’d just had with one another was enough to tell me just how special this was, but they didn’t come close.

Forrest had just admitted he’d never been this happy.

That he could feel the same as me meant the world to me.

And that’s when I realized just how badly it was going to hurt when this was over.

TWELVE

Forrest

This trip had been one surprise, followed by another.

Meeting Daisy, spending time with her, and being willing to give up days of riding on the mountain while on the trip I looked forward to taking every year for that reason just so I could spend time with her was the start of the surprises. All of that would have been more than enough for me to call this trip a great one.

But I got more than that.

The way Daisy shared freely with me, how she was open about certain things—like her dream—was the next biggest surprise.

I’d always been the kind of guy who knew how to have a good time. There were times in my life when I knew I needed to be serious—for example, anything that pertained to the work I did as a bodyguard—but then there were times like this. Times when I could kick back, enjoy myself, and do whatever made me happy.
