I shake my head. “Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to leave you all alone with Uncle Reid after all.”

But then my eyes meet Mia’s and I regret nothing. This weekend may be slightly more complicated than I envisioned, but it’s not going to stop me from making it memorable for Mia. I’m going to show her exactly where I stand, and where I want her to stand.

Next to me. In my arms. It’s all or nothing.

I’ve been waiting for this day all week.

Luke and Damon are at my brother’s cabin. They were making s’mores when I left, and now, I’m on my way to pick up Mia. I’ve seen her every day this week but the short bursts are not enough. I’m craving more. I’m craving her.

I find parking near the Inn, and Mia spots me immediately, waving as she wheels her suitcase behind her. Her pale green sundress clings to every curve of her body as her hair flutters behind her in the soft breeze. My stomach tightens as I let my gaze wander down the length of her. Fuck, she’s sexy. Stunning and gorgeous. She’s a breath of fresh air to my aching lungs.

I hop out of my truck to greet her. I shouldn’t touch her. Shouldn’t even consider it. But when her sweet scent hits me, and she smiles at me like that, I can’t help myself. I pull her into a tight hug and shove my face into her neck.

“How was work?”

I can feel her snort against my skin. “Is that what you want to talk about?”

I let out a raspy sigh, filled with her scent. “Not at all.”

Her fingers dig into my back, and it’s taking every ounce of self-restraint not to wrap my hand around her hair and guide her lips to mine, kissing her how I want. Rough and needy. Greedy for her taste on my lips and tongue.

But out here in the open? I wouldn’t be surprised if someone hasn’t already seen what’s happening between us. It would be only a matter of time before word got back to Damon.

I pull back and stare at the redness blooming on Mia’s neck and cheeks, my gaze dipping lower to the swath of her chest, rising and falling. Fucking want to drag my tongue right there. Everywhere.

“I thought you were going to kiss me,” Mia says, breathless.

“But that would be against the rules.”

“What rules?” Mia asks, regaining her voice.

I snort, brushing her cheek with my thumb. “The rules you sent me. The guidelines. Boundaries. You were very thorough.”

“And you signed it.”

“Of course. Because it brought you to me.” I lower my hand to the crook of her neck and feel her pulse thrum against my fingers. “But now we’re in a predicament.”

“Oh?”

“I want to kiss you.” I trace a line up her neck with my finger until I reach her lips. “And much more.” I pause as Mia’s fingers dig into me. It feels so good to have her hands on me.

“Maybe we could renegotiate the terms.”

“Is that what you want?”

Mia nods.

“Is that all you want?”

She shakes her head.

“What else do you want?”

Tell me. I need to hear those words. I need to know that you still feel it.

“You,” Mia says softly. “I want you, Wyatt. I always have. And I always will.”

Salvation. Mia’s redeemed my broken soul and pieced it back together, but there’s still one thing missing. Her lips on mine.
