My eyes fly open and find his. Blue skies and peaceful oceans.
“Y-you do?”
He nods. “So much.” His thumb is caressing my cheek as his eyes jump from my eyes to my mouth.
I lick my lips, and he bites his bottom lip.
“He still wants me. Just as much as I want him. And he loves me.” Elation fills me.
“I love you too.” Just a breath, but enough that he listens.
His eyes widen as they take mine in, and his mouth crashes against mine.
When he pulls apart, he touches his forehead to mine. “So, what do you say, my queen? Want to move in with me and become the family we should have been all along?”
Living with him sounds amazing and scary at the same time.
I worry on my bottom lip. “But what if we don’t work out?”
“Or, what if we work on working out?” Arching one brow, he leans in to whisper in my ear, “I love you, Lucy Bennet, and I want you in my life forever.”
Forever?
The door flies open, and Aurora runs into the apartment at full speed. “I knew I saw Daddy’s car parked outside!” She jumps right into his arms as he stands.
Rocking back and forth with her, a couple of tears stream down his face.
This is what we are really meant to be. A family. His family.
“I love you, Aurora.” His voice is choppy and full of emotion. “I missed you so much.”
She leans back, placing her hands on either side of his face. “I love you too, Daddy. And I missed you more.”
I step in, wrap my arms around them both, completing our family circle. “I love you both. My family.”
Apollo turns to me and asks, “Is that a yes?”
I laugh and just nod.
His smile warms my soul.

I think I have found the one.
“Hey, Lani, can you watch Aurora so I can take Lucy somewhere?” Watching traffic pass by me, I can hardly wait for my turn to go. There’s so much I want to do today.
“No problem.”
“Thanks. And I also need some time alone with Aurora later. Maybe after Lucy and I get back, you can take Lucy somewhere so I can have time with my daughter?”
“Sure, I can do that. It sounds like you’re pretty excited about today.”
“I am. I hope it all turns out well. I’m super nervous, to be honest.”
I’ve never done anything even remotely close to this before.
