The leggy brunette moves through the clothing racks with ease until she reaches us. I drop my hand from Wilder's forearm and lace my fingers with his. For some reason, he doesn't pull away. Instead, he holds on tighter.

"Dad said you didn't want to go on the family vacation to Orange Beach this year," she crosses her arms over her chest. That's when I see it. The resemblance. Dark hair and hazel eyes. The same curve of the nose. His sister. Half-sister. The one his father left him for.

"I'm busy," he lies.

Her eyes slide to me, and she holds out a hand. "Hi, I'm Elowyn. Wilder's sister."

I shake her hand as Wilder's grip strengthens on my fingers. "I'm Ingrid. Nice to meet you."

"Ingrid," Elowyn smiles. "I think Wilder's mentioned you before."

"We're neighbors," Wilder explains as Elowyn's gaze drifts to our interlaced fingers.

"And lovers," I joke.

"She's kidding," Wilder quickly interrupts. "She's just a friend."

"I used to date his best friend, Cash," I explain. "Then, Cash ditched us for Europe and since neither of us has any other friends, we're stuck together. All summer long." Wilder shoots me a panicked look. "When Wilder is not busy. Which is usually never."

Elowyn laughs. "I know he's not busy, Ingrid. I also don't blame him for skipping the family vacay. It's too much. Even for me."

"We are busy," I defend Wilder. Why am I defending him? Why do I suddenly feel the need to stick up for my arch-nemesis-turned-shopping-companion? "We're doing a bucket list this summer. And we have a lot of items on it."

"A bucket list?" Elowyn gets excited. "That sounds fun."

"We don't want to keep you," Wilder ruins our tête-à-tête. "Tell Margot I say hi."

"I will," Elowyn smiles. "My mom really misses you. Anyway, It was good seeing you. Both of you."

"Nice meeting you," I say before Elowyn disappears through the racks and Wilder's shoulders slump. "You okay?"

Wilder nods slowly. "Fine."

I glance down at our intertwined fingers. "You want to talk about it?"

"No," he quickly answers.

"You still want that BJ?" I nudge him with my shoulder.

"No."

"I'll let you touch my boobs the whole time your dick is in my mouth," I continue as the corner of his lips tips up.

"You couldn't handle Wild Cox," he perks up a little. "It's too big for your tiny mouth."

"I do not have a tiny mouth," I scoff.

"I've seen you try to eat a hot dog," he smirks.

"It's not my fault Costco has massive hot dogs. Everyone has a problem trying to eat a Costco hot dog," I argue.

"No one has a problem fitting them into their mouths, Blondie," he shakes his head. "Except you."

"I resent that statement," I inform him as his eyes trail down my torso before settling on our hands.

"I haven't talked to Elowyn in two years," he reveals.

"Why not?" I ask.
