Chapter 6

I woke with the sun; I was on my belly, completely sore and satisfied from our sex-fiesta.

After he made me come the first time, we caught our breaths, then we did it again. We did it in the shower, on the kitchen counter, couch, and bed.

I smiled at the wonderful memories. I turned my head to see his sleeping form, but the bed was empty.

I couldn’t hear him in the bathroom and there was no smell of food. I wondered where he’d gone. Sitting up I called out. “Brett?”

No answer.

There was a note on his pillow though, curious, I picked it up.

Good morning, beautiful,

I’m sorry I can’t be here when you wake up, but I have to go back to Sydney to work.

After yesterday, I wanted to call in sick and stay the last few days in bed — or out — with you.

Let me know when you’ll be home and we can pick up where we left off.

Love,

Brett xo

I snuggled back down in bed, smiling. He wanted this!

I was so happy and satisfied that I fell back to sleep with a smile on my face.

When I woke again, I felt more energized.

I wanted to be with Brett. I knew I had three more days’ vacation, but it was Brett I wanted.

Getting out of bed, I ran, well more like power-walked— I was still sore— to the bathroom and had a shower, cleaning myself as carefully as I could.

I emerged with a towel wrapped around my body, the other in my hair, and picked random clothes to wear. I quickly packed the other clothes in my suitcase.

Once I’d done that, I made a coffee in my travel mug, packed the wine and all my belongings, and made my way toward my new future with the man I love.

On the drive, I debated whether or not to call him. Brett was expecting me in a few days time, but I wanted to surprise him, and besides, we had dinner every Wednesday night.

I looked at the clock two-thirty pm, it would be around five-thirty by the time I got to either of our places and I was eager to see him again.

With a smile on my face, I sped down the highway, careful not to go over the limit.

At five forty-five, I pulled up outside his place. His car was in the driveway. Grabbing my handbag from the passenger seat and locking my car, I was knocking on his front door in a matter of seconds. No answer. Maybe he was still at work?

I pulled my key ring out of my handbag and found the one to his front door and let myself in. We had swapped keys about two years before. I had given him mine, when he asked why? I replied with, “You can come over any time.” The next day he gave me his. Since then, we’ve treated each other’s places like our own, unless one of us was having sex, then all bets were off — unless it was an emergency.

Turning on lights as I went, I made my way into his kitchen and I got myself a glass of water.

I looked around his apartment; it was a one bedroom-studio type. The bedroom was through the right door down a short hallway— if it could be called that — and the kitchen took up one side of the apartment, the living and dining directly across from it and the bathroom through another door near the bedroom.

The placed oozed bachelor pad with the dark colors and little feminine touches.

I sat on one of the brown leather couches and decided to get some red throw pillows and a red and black rug to match. A lamp on the side table would give off a great lighting to the dark exterior.

I could imagine photos of us hanging on the walls and our adventures displayed throughout the little apartment.
