My eyes burned from staring at the computer screens as I walked down the hall towards my bedroom. I’d just finished another round of searches on Aaron. Still trying to figure out who he’d worked for. But it seemed like they didn’t care to come after us.
I suppose Aaron’s mutilated corpse was warning enough that no one came into our city. And I trusted Violet’s men to take care of Craig. They wanted retaliation for what happened to her.
But I wasn’t taking chances with Lark’s safety. I had Zara doing research. And I’d upped the security in the entire building. Also, Lark moved in with me. It had been a week, and I loved it.
