“Feet flat. Right now.”

I fall back, grunting when he slaps me again. “Five hours and you’re on page three? What the fuck are you playing at?”

Smack!

I hiss, attempting to reach back. He grabs both my wrists and holds them in one hand at the small of my back.

“I’m a slow reader.” Smack! “Fuck! Nate, it hurts. I promise you I wasn’t fighting back. Words are complicated… I… They’re very hard for me.”

The slaps stop, but my breathing is out of control. Fire spreads across my ass cheeks.

“What?”

“I-I’m just stupid, I don’t know. It’s fucking hard, okay?”

Smack!

“Take that back right now.”

“I can’t fucking read!” I shout. “You want me to say that doesn’t make me stupid?”

“You can read.” Slap! “You’re perfectly intelligent.” Slap!

“Stop!” I shriek.

“Take it back.”

“Okay, fuck, I’m not stupid!”

His grip on my wrists disappears. I stay bent over the island, but I prop myself on my forearms. I feel him shift before his lips meet one cheek in a soft kiss, then the other.

“Good girl. Grab the pen.”

My trembling hand goes for the pen, and I hold the contract under me.

He caresses my lower back, his hand under the robe, while the other comes between my legs. “My beautiful wife, always letting pain turn you on.”

“Shut up,” I moan as he pushes a finger inside me.

“It’s a transfer of ownership,” he explains calmly. “The Cascade Hotels belonged to Mr. Campbell. Now, they will belong to you.”

Another finger enters me. “Wh-why?”

“Sign, Kayla. I’ll be a major silent investor in the hotel, and you’ll be the owner. That’s it.”

My eyes flutter shut, and I struggle to hold myself on my two forearms. “You…you,” I pant. “You’re going to wash your money with the hotels.” Feeling myself getting wetter by the second, I release a moan. “And you’re putting them in my name, so they’re not directly yours.”

He chuckles behind me, his fingers accelerating. He adds a third one, and I scream in pleasure at the same time as he pinches my burning cheek.

My grip tightens on the pen. “You want me to sign Kayla King and backdate it.” And it hits me. “Nate, you’re an asshole.”

He slows his fingers. “I won’t get caught.”

“But if you do, if the feds learn there’s money being washed with those hotels, you’re going to put it on me. They’re in her name. She had the hotels before we got married. I had no idea what she used them for. That’s what you’ll say in court, isn’t it? You’ll put the blame on me.”

I bite my lower lip as anger and pleasure mix like a poisonous cocktail.

“Lie in court to protect myself? To get you in trouble?” He curls his fingers, making me moan even louder. “Who could have inspired me to do that?”
