Maybe Nate was right. Maybe I want to play a bigger game than owning the North Shore. Maybe ruling a criminal empire by his side is more tempting than I cared to admit.

When he pushes inside me, I don’t need pain to feel pleasure. As he thrusts in and out, exhilaration is what makes me tremble. Being held by him, owned by him, and protected by him brings me to highs I hadn’t reached before. Being his equal is what takes me to my orgasm.

He fucks me hard with a need to possess me.

He makes me come with an obsession that defies reason.

And he kisses me with something that resembles love so closely…I could be fooled into believing it.

Joke’s On you - Charlotte Lawrence

“What the fuck is this place?”

We’re standing in front of a shop that screams only rich people allowed from even before you get in.

His & Hers, that’s what it’s called. We didn’t leave Stoneview, instead drove to the main street so Nate could accomplish his dream of dressing me up like a rich cunt.

“I don’t want to go in there,” I groan. “I’m going to fight with someone, I just know it.”

“I had them close the whole thing. There will be no other customers.”

My heart skips a beat, and I want to crush it with my own hands.

“You closed the entire shop so you could find me a dress?”

“Yes, for three hours. Now we’re late, thanks to you.”

“Shut up.” Oh…I really meant for that to sound less playful. “I don’t even want to go to your stupid dinner.”

He takes my hand in his, looking down at me from where he’s standing next to me. “I take you out of the house and this is how you thank me?”

“What the fuck am I? Your pet? You take me on a walk, and I should suck your dick in the fitting room?”

His lips pinch, clearly stopping himself from laughing. “I would never ask my cat to suck my dick, but to each their own, I guess.”

“You have a cat?”

His eyebrows rise to his hairline. “You haven’t seen my cat?”

“Okay, there’s no cat, is there? Where would you even have kept it when you were away?”

“I took him in when I got out. I didn’t have one before.”

I narrow my eyes at him, and he looks at me with his signature blank face.

“There’s no cat,” I huff.

“What the hell do you do all day? Don’t you walk around the house? Don’t you play with my cat?”

“There’s no cat!” I almost shout. Why does he have to play mind games for even the most insignificant things?

He shrugs. “Okay, well, if you don’t want to believe me.”

“There’s no cat.”
