Dantanian ran a hand over the cool smooth crystal. “It’s hard. What’s the big deal?”

“Keep your hand there,” Levia instructed with a stern tone.

A few seconds later, Dantanian hissed as he jumped back. He rubbed his hands to shake off the burning sensation, but then his eyes widened and gave a wicked grin.

“What do you think?” Kristoff stepped in front of him.

Kristoff was a little more than six feet tall but he had to tilt his head back to meet Dantanian’s gaze.

“Impressive.”

“What about Joleen and her brat?” Levia walked behind the help, the torchlight flickering as she passed.

“I have enough caskets.” Kristoff said. “One for Victus and one for Joleen. The others for Vara and Maria if they don’t join me. And as for the brat, Asmodeus told me she would grow up to be a powerful magus. She’d make a fine addition to my team.”

“What about my half sister and her ridiculous friends?” Levia bit her bottom lip as she placed an index finger on his chest and ran it down seductively to his waistline.

“When they’re captured, they’re yours if they don’t want to join my legion. You can do whatever with them.” He took that finger, and as he bored his eyes to hers, he curled his tongue around it and sucked it.

Levia whimpered a moan and her eyes darkened.

“So, Dantanian.” Kristoff licked Levia’s finger again. “Will you bring your fallen warriors and help me knock Victus off the throne when I replenish my sentinels?”

Many of his people died in the war. And it would take a decade, if not more, to build an army to match Victus’s.

“Hmmm … I’ll think about it.” Dantanian raised an eyebrow.

Kristoff clenched his fists as anger burst inside him. He wanted to toss that fallen inside the ruby casket and make him feel pain. But he needed Dantanian and his fallen warriors.

“While you’re thinking about it, why don’t you look for an angel named Michael?”

“Why? What’s so special about him?” He sounded annoyed, as if Kristoff offended him.

“Find him and you’ll know.”

Kristoff had enough of angel egos and he was famished. Just to prove he could be ruthless, he took the torch light from the human servant and handed it to Levia. Then he snatched the young boy and bit his neck.

Levia and Dantanian turned away, unable to bear witness to Kristoff drinking his victim bone dry in a matter of seconds. When he was done, he tossed him into the ruby casket and shut it.

Kristoff wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. “That was tasty. Now, where was I? Oh, yes. Dantanian, go find Michael, and Levia come with me. We have much to plan.”

He didn’t ask, he commanded. He wasn’t the ruler of all like Victus, but in his lair he was the king, and he would do as he pleased.

Kristoff was grateful for the missing memories that had returned to him. He had no idea how that happened, nor did he care. When he had everything in place, he would reveal his identity and take what was rightfully his, even if he had to get rid of Victus himself.

And no drakon, or Victus’s mommy dearest, would be there to save him.
