His mom was the first torespond.

Congratulations honey! I’mso happy for you. What’s her name?

Bella. She’s from a packin Southern Kentucky.

Congrats, Son,his dad texted. When canwe meet her?

She needs to talk to herparents first, and there’s some history between her family’s packand our pack, so I need to check in with Alpha Jason.

He wanted to take her on adate before he actually introduced her to his parents.

I could bring her overtomorrow? he added.

How about dinner, say6? his mom asked.

Perfect.

His dad gave a thumbs-up emoji, andhis mom sent a string of smiley faces and hearts.

Then he sent a text to Alpha Jasonasking to meet with him and Alpha Cades at some point during theday.

Let’s say two p.m., I’vegot a lunch date with Cades, Jasontexted. Is this about Bella’s family? Dothey not like fairies or something?

Kash didn’t want to have awhole conversation over text about Bella’s family history, so hesimply texted, Nothing like that, I justneed to update you on some stuff.

Sounds good, see you attwo.

He put the phone down with a yawn andlaid his arms around his mate. Closing his eyes, he drifted off tosleep, thankful to have woken up with the most beautiful female inthe world.

After waking up with hersexy mate, Bella and Kash made their way to the shower, where theygot clean, got dirty, and got clean again.

Now that she could see him in thelight of day, she thought he was even sexier, if that was possible. That he was hers was a dream come true.

“Are you ready to call yourparents?” Kash asked as he set a small carton of milk on thekitchen table for her to put in her coffee.

Her heart immediately started torace.

She wanted to say that noshe wasn’t the least bit ready to call her parents, but she knewshe needed to. The worst thing would be if they happened to lookfor her and she wasn’t at her apartment, or if they called andneeded her and she was two hours away.

“Yeah.”

He chuckled. “You don’t soundready.”

She put enough milk in the coffee toturn it beige, then added a spoonful of sugar. The spoon clinkedaround the edges of the mug while she stirred, giving herself amoment to consider things.

She put the spoon on asmall plate and lifted the mug. “Even though I didn’t actually lieto them, I didn’t tell them where I was going or what I was doing, and my dad will definitely consider that deceitful. I don’t likedisappointing them. He’s always held me and my brother to a highstandard.”

Kash joined her and fixed his owncoffee. They both sipped at the hot brews.

“Well, I can’t speak toyour parents, but mine would be disappointed that I didn’t tellthem what I was doing. I know that not-wanting-to-disappointfeeling well. But, you might also be imagining it will be worsethan it actually will be.”

“True.” She toyed with herphone and took a drink. “Okay, I’ll call now.”

“Do you want someprivacy?”

She smiled at him. He was really sosweet. “No, you can stay.”
