“Just so you know, Bella’sgot a decision to make and depending on what she chooses, you’lleither walk away from this or be buried.” The male grabbed the doorand lowered it.

“Chris! Don’t do this,”Kash shouted.

The door slammed into the floor anddust rained down over Kash. He closed his eyes and shook his headto shake off the debris.

“You aren’t really planningto kill him, right?” Chris asked as they walked away.

“Don’t worry about it,” themale said. “Bella will do the right thing and your family will betogether again.”

There was something offabout the way the male was talking. Kash picked up a tone of deceitwhich meant he wasn’t telling Chris the truth. Was something moregoing on than simply using Kash to get Bella to come back to thepack?

He closed his eyes and focused all hislagging energy on his wrists, attempting to pull one free of theshackles. Exhausted and more injured after several minutes ofpulling, he dropped his head back against the wall and thoughtabout Bella.

Touching the part ofhimself that was a wolf, he reached out to her, warning her away.He didn’t know if he’d make it out of the cellar, but he sure ashell didn’t want her thinking she could rescue him by showing upwhen it was clear there was something bigger going on.

Don’t come for me, baby.Stay far away.

Bella stood next to an SUV and watchedas Kash’s mom Jenna set up to do a location spell.

“I fucking wish Tellerstill lived here,” Jason said in a low voice.

“Who’s Teller?” Bellaasked.

Logan said, “He’s atracker. He can find anyone anywhere. But he left our pack to joinwith his mate in her home pack. Jenna will be able to findhim.”

“Call your grandpa,” Jasonsaid. “Since your family won’t answer.”

She pressed the button for hergrandpa, picturing the big male who always wore flannel, even inthe summer.

“Hey, honey,” he saidjovially. “How’s it going?”

“Grandpa, someone tookKash.”

“What? Whathappened?”

Her voice cracked and shelooked plaintively at Logan. He took the phone and put it onspeaker. “Jake, it’s Logan. I’m here with Jason. My son Kash,Bella’s mate, was abducted. My mate’s trying to locate him with herfae power, but we believe someone from your pack tookhim.”

What Logan didn’t say was thateveryone—including her—believed her dad was behind it.

“Holy hell, I’m sorry tohear that. You think it was our pack? That’s why you’recalling?”

“We don’t know anything forsure,” Jason said evenly. “But it seemed a logical place to start. We know that Brett considers the mating invalid and abetrayal.”

“Let me reach out to him.Give me a few minutes. Honey, we’ll find him, okay?”

“Jake, if Jenna gets a lockon Kash and he’s in Rhone, we’ll be there as soon as possible,”Logan said.

“If she locates him intown, I’ll look for him myself. I’ll be in touch.”

The call ended, and as Logan handedthe phone back to Bella it rang again.

The name on the screen wasblocked.

“Put it on speaker,” Jasonsaid.

She nodded and answered, pressing thespeaker button. “Hello?”
