“No. Someone probably came in and took it while we slept. There’s nothing we can do about it. Just keep an eye out and tell everyone that it’s gone.” He shrugs and hands me the holster for my knife.

Once I have it secure, he gives me a heated head-to-toe perusal, and I return a smug grin as we head out to the hall.

“You should stay armed because you never know when you’ll need it down here. Plus, it’s sexy as hell,” he remarks.

Ryker gives a wolf whistle in agreement as he exits his room, and we make our way down the hall.

“Just so you guys know, the earring we found last night is gone. We looked and couldn’t find it. We think someone took it while we were sleeping,” Zeke tells the group.

“Oh no! Do we need to set up booby traps?” Moni asks, her bark turning pale white as she takes a sip of her coffee.

“No. But it means we have nothing to confront Trometh with,” JP explains.

“Or a way to find out who set him up,” Chester adds.

Knots leans in to me as he passes. “You look sexy with that knife attached to you.”

“I don’t even know how to use it. I just got one to look badass while looking for Lynx,” I admit shamelessly.

“I don’t mind teaching you,” Ryker offers, smirking as we walk into the dining room. I’m sure he doesn’t mind teaching me, but I doubt he’s thinking about knives at all, since his eyes glow an electric blue.

“Teach her what? How to wash her mouth out with soap?” Lucifer butts in.

“Now, where’s the fun in that? I was just going along with that saying, you know, how many curses does it take to crack the foundation of Lucifer’s mansion?” I smile sweetly at our host as I sit down in the seat Knots pulls out for me. If I’m not mistaken, Lucifer’s lips slightly twitch; I’m taking it as a smile.

Knots sits down next to me as JP smoothly slides in on my other side. Levi takes his normal seat at the end, but Ryker stands by me for a moment. Zeke slides into the seat across from me and gives me a smile before putting a napkin on his lap.

“I was offering Rez lessons in how to use the knife,” Ryker helpfully supplies.

“You? With a blade?” Astaroth quirks an eyebrow as he comes in and places a platter of cooked eggs down before us.

“I’m trained in knife combat, yes,” Ryker says with pride.

“Hmm. We’ll see. I want to see you in the training room after breakfast,” Astaroth says as he takes a seat.

Ryker nods his head and leans down to give me a brief kiss, but I move past his lips and whisper in his ear, “Is this where I kiss you goodbye and say it’s been real?” I try to hold back a giggle as he gives me a cruel smile.

“Nah, temptress. It’s where I get a goodbye quickie in the hallway bathroom, where I bend you over the counter and take that wet cunt over and over again until you beg for mercy.” His words have my pussy already begging, but not for him to stop… The greedy hussy wants a trip to the bathroom. Ryker’s eyes glow an even brighter blue as he inhales deeply, closing his eyes. While he exhales, a shudder runs through his body before he licks his lips and leans back to whisper in my ear. “Then Astaroth will hand me my ass. But at least I’ll enjoy the appetizer. You’re delicious,” he says before playfully biting my lip.

“Ryker! Didn’t your mother teach you not to play with your food?” Murmur teases, walking in from the kitchen.

Ryker slowly stands up and gives him a saucy smile. “No. She didn’t,” he says as he walks to an empty chair.

“I’m pretty sure I did. But then again, you don’t always follow the rules,” Lilith says, walking in with a smile.

Today she’s wearing head-to-toe black. Black jeans, a black tank top, and black boots.

“What’s the occasion?” Levi asks, putting his napkin on his lap.

“Oh! I have a wonderful meeting planned with your fathers, and my ex-husband. We have a few questions for him, especially since he was the person behind my possession. We need to know why,” she explains while sitting down and unwrapping her utensils.

Trometh shuffles in wearing the same clothes from yesterday, which I’m beginning to think is his uniform, and hands Lilith a yellow paper. I glance at his ears, and he’s not missing an earring. So either he conjured up a new one, came in and grabbed it last night, or someone set him up, but I can’t imagine who would do that. As it is, I don’t know which explanation I prefer. “Thank you, Trometh,” she says before opening the letter and reading it. Her face falls the more she reads until she throws it up in the air and it disappears into dust. “Well, it seems your fathers won’t be joining me after all. They have to stay behind and work on the aftermath of the attack at school,” she tells us with a clenched jaw.

Shit! I forgot about the school.

She looks at us, waving off our concern. “No one was hurt, just some damage to buildings. They’ll be arranging the repairs and setting up better defenses. That’s all. Nothing to worry about. You are better off staying here anyway. Today’s classes have been canceled, so just think of it as an extended three-day weekend,” she says flippantly as she fills up her plate. Noticing no one else is eating, she waves her hand, sending the dishes off in another carousel like she did the night before.

“At least until Sunday,” Zeke murmurs.
