He grunts a low, rough sound. It goes straight to the spot between my legs, and I feel myself loosening again, spreading my thighs wider for him.

He thrusts steadily forward. In the same motion, his palm rubs my breast, puckering my nipple.

I moan, every move and stroke feeding the purr in my body until I finally relax, taking all of him in me.

“Fuck,” he groans, and a laugh bubbles up my throat.

My smile is quick to fade though, as he sinks completely inside me. “You feel so tight and good. I never—”

The feel of him inside me is so overwhelming that my thighs begin to tremble, the backs of my eyes burn as he presses his face into my neck, inhaling.

I gasp at the familiar scrap of his fangs against my skin and his heartbeat racing against the sound of my call.

He’s shaking in his effort to hold himself together, I realize.

“Fuck, Hetty.” He sounds like he’s on the brink of losing control. Like if he doesn’t get what he wants, there will be no telling what comes next.

“Do it, Noah,” I whisper in his ear. “Mark me.”

He moves much more quickly than I could anticipate, his teeth sinking into me as he thrusts forward, hitting someplace deep inside of me. I cry out at the contact, unable to move as he moves in and out of me, his fangs digging into my skin.

It’s too much. Too much pleasure. Too many hopes, thoughts, and dreams over the years.

The same bright light explodes behind my eyelids as Noah pauses over me, releasing a loud roar that shakes the walls of the dilapidated house, as well as the very ground it stands on.

When it finally passes, we both hold perfectly still, breathing in tandem. He’s still inside me, and I can feel him growing, taking hold of me as he releases something warm inside me. He pulls me over so that we’re lying on our sides, facing each other.

“What—” I start to ask, but he shushes me with a kiss.

“It’s my knot,” he whispers, his eyes flicking down to my face, concern etched behind them. “How does it feel?”

I breathe and sit with the feeling for a few moments. It’s like he’s locked inside me, a missing piece that I never realized I needed to feel whole. Like, down to the smallest details, I was made for him, and he for me.

“It feels perfect,” I breathe out, my fingers clawing at his chest as a short burst of emotion moves through my body.

He breathes out a short sigh of relief, and I nuzzle against him, falling asleep quicker than I have in my entire life.

What Tomorrow Brings

Noah

It’s not until I pull away from her and release my knot that I can inspect her properly and breathe a sigh of relief.

She’s fine.

Curled on her side, she lies facing me, using my bicep as a pillow. Her breathing is normal and even when she looks up at me, her eyes glistening blissfully in the early morning light.

My heartbeat slows as I sit up and pull back the blanket. Other than the mark on her neck, her pale skin is smooth and unharmed. There wasn’t an abnormal amount of pain, I don’t think.

I graze the space between her legs with my fingertips. She shivers at my touch but doesn’t flinch in pain. No blood down there.

An image of Carrie lying on my father’s floor, her bloody skirt pressed between her legs, flashes in my mind. I push it aside, focusing on Hetty.

She’s fine.

“You’re okay?” I ask gruffly, lying down again next to her again.
