Did they follow me like we did Willow on her date? Do they track my phone and I don’t know it? I will be pissed if they do.

“Dane texted me and told me you guys ran into each other and were drinking and chatting.”

“Oh.” Guilt hits me.

“I kept them busy, but you owe me.” She bites her bottom lip, and my core heats.

“Deal.”

Chapter Thirty-Four

NASH

Willow is late for her heat by a few days. No, she’s not pregnant, we’ve already gone to make sure. But the doctor said it was because of stress.

He said it’s not uncommon, but until those stressors can be lessened, it’s most likely going to be pushed back until then.

So that means our omega is pretty much a ticking time bomb. That also means she can’t be left alone, at all. And no trips too far outside of Calling Wood unless absolutely necessary.

She’s not showing many signs, just a few occasional mood swings, but the doctor also said that could be due to the stress.

They did put her on a light suppressant to help hold her heat off for another week or two, but it’s mostly just to handle the symptoms.

Willow was honestly happy about it because that meant she had more time to get to know Chandler and Dane before her next heat.

I had to hide my hurt over that. It’s hard not to resent Dane and Chandler for taking Willow’s first heat from us. For the only time, we would have had her just to ourselves.

And we can’t ask them to sit this one out, because they’re her scent matches and if she goes through a heat without them, it could kill her or, at the very least, put her in the hospital.

I need to put my omega’s needs before my own pride and jealousy. Just because they’re going to be in her life now, that doesn’t mean we’re any less part of her pack.

At least that's what I keep telling myself.

“Come on.” I step in front of the TV. Ledger and Willow are vegging out while Aubrey is out working.

“Move, you're in the way,” Ledger mutters.

“It’s the weekend and I’ll be damned if we mope around on this beautiful day.” I grab the remote from the table and turn the TV off.

“Hey!” Ledger huffs and Willow groans as she stretches out like a cat.

“You two have been glued to this couch since you woke up this morning.” I walk over to the living room window and throw open the curtains.

I’m not even joking, the both of them fucking hiss like vampires in the sun as the bright light comes streaming in.

“That’s just sad.” I sigh, shaking my head with argument. “Let’s go for a ride.”

That perks Willow up. “In the Mustang?” She looks over at Ledger and a sly grin takes over his face. I raise a brow at the two of them, wondering what that is all about.

“Fuck yeah, it’s a go!” He jumps up and heads toward the door.

“Ah, dude.” I chuckle. “Pants first.” He skids to a stop and looks down at his boxers.

“Shit,” he hisses and takes off running up the stairs.

“So, wanna tell me why you're so set on us taking the Mustang?” I ask my omega as she gets off the couch and stands in front of me.

She bites her lower lip, smiling. “Ledger may have promised me a little bit of fun with the car involved. Plans got changed when we brought Vera back.”
