Half of the bodies were never found, nor will they be found. I enjoyed the fact they will never get closure.

Some of the family members visited me in prison. They cried, sobbed, had full-on breakdowns and all I did was grin, laugh and describe in detail what I did to their sons. Seeing that look on their faces had to be one of my favorite memories to exist.

‘‘So, what exactly are you planning now?’’

Dan poured me a glass of whiskey.

He owned a small bar that was closed for the day. The cameras were turned off, and the blinds were closed. Neither of us wanted to risk being seen with the other, since the cops were still looking for me.

‘‘I’m just letting the fate decide what happens.’’

Dan snorted. ‘‘That poor girl,’’ he sighed. ‘‘Do you plan on…killing her?’’

I gave him a blank stare. ‘‘Of course not. She didn’t do anything. At least, not yet.’’

Dan grimaced. ‘‘Is it really a smart move to kidnap a student? I mean, you could get caught and I doubt she’ll keep her mouth shut or speak in your favor.’’

‘‘I know I’ll get caught sooner or later.’’ I took a swing of the drink. ‘‘And my death date will be pushed forward, but I don’t care. I just need enough time with her before I get killed.’’

‘‘Try not to traumatize her too much.’’

I ignored him.

Dan was a very persistent person. He stared at me, without blinking, for a while. Once he realized I wouldn’t respond to that nonsense, he rolled his eyes.

‘‘What are you going to do if someone finds you before you’re done with your…plan?’’

My eyes snapped to his.

‘‘I’ll kill everyone who gets in my way.’’

Dan shook his head. He didn’t speak much after that and by the time I was done with my fourth glass, it was dark outside.

‘‘Here’s everything you asked for.’’ Dan put a big bag in front of me. ‘‘If you need anything else, let me know, and I’ll try to get it done as quickly as possible.’’

My response was a nod.

I couldn’t wait to go to her cabin again.

It was a pure coincidence that Dan had bought off the cabin from Storm’s father a year ago. I didn’t know about it until after my escape from prison, but it made me sure that meeting her, seeing her, was fate.

Her letter might’ve been displaced accidentally, but everything else was destiny.

Her big eyes captivated me immediately. It was the first time anything like that had happened. That fearful gaze in her eyes made me imagine what she’d look like completely broken. She seemed fragile, and that was exactly why I decided to take her and make her mine.

She should’ve woken up by now.

I didn’t have to imagine the look on her face when she realized where she was, nor when she found out that there’s no way out for her. All I had to do was look at the cameras I’d planted. I had access through my phone, and I felt nothing but bliss.

She looked so pretty.

She was so pretty.

Storm sat next to a window for a while, gripping the handle of a kitchen knife tightly. It made me chuckle. That thing isn’t sharp enough to cut through bread, let alone harm me seriously. It was cute that she thought she could escape me, especially with a weapon like that.

I turned off the cameras and went back to Dan’s car.

The drive to the cabin was two hours, but in this weather, it was more. I was feeling giddy. I couldn’t wait to see her. She was unaware of this, but the moment she tried to run away from the train station was the moment her fate was truly sealed.
