“And by the time you ran, you had already decided to keep the baby?”
“I did.” My tone is soft, a slight waver to my words as the emotions come rushing back. “I was in the clinic and the doctor wanted to listen to the baby’s heartbeat and make sure that everything was alright. As soon as I heard our baby, I knew that I couldn’t go through with ending the pregnancy.”
Sergey nods as his pacing stops. He stands in front of me, heat radiating between us.
