“What a beautiful name for a beautiful little girl.”

She giggles and smiles. I slide over a sheet for her to color and her crayons. Just as I go to get their drinks and put in their food order, the door swings open revealing Royal.

Oh fuck.

I peek over at Naomi and her face is red. Staring at him, I cover my mouth with my notebook.

Royal looks around the diner until he sees me and then I step aside so he can fully see Naomi.

She is beautiful and with the widening of his eyes, I know that he notices that too. I walk over to him. “That’s her,” I whisper to him in passing so that she doesn’t hear.

He gives a small little nod, and sits at the table directly next to theirs. I walk into the back and Marie is following after me but peeks out of the crack of the door.

“Marie,” I whisper yell and her head snaps around to me giggling. “Oh, did you see that look on his face? My baby had that same look when he saw you the other day.”

I laugh at her, because she’s as adorable as a child when she’s like this. Terror is still sitting in the booth a few rows back behind both Naomi and her daughter and Royal, his eyes going from one booth to the other.

I go to Dante nudging him with the side of my arm. “It seems Terror takes after his mother.” He bursts out laughing seeing Terror staring at the both of them.

I hand Dante their order and I gather their drinks, water for Naomi and a juice for the sweet girl.

I push open the swinging door with their drinks, and I look to Royal and Naomi. Her daughter is staring at Royal and waving her little fingers at him.

Sigh, she is making me want to have babies of my own. The thought of having someone of my own to love, to take care of, it’s a huge dream of mine.

I slide Everleigh her juice and slide the straw in the top for her. Her mom hands it to her, helping her hold it.

“How old is she?” I ask Naomi.

She smiles, grabbing a napkin to wipe the juice off her mouth. “She is turning two soon.”

I look over at Royal and move to get his order. “Want anything to drink?” I ask him.

“I will take a water and a burger myself, with everything on it,” he tells me and peeks around the side of me to look at Naomi.

“I will pay for their food,” he says and I grin wider at that. He shakes his head at my reaction, while Terror is flat out laughing at me, silently trying to hide it behind the menu.

I go to put in his order, and soon Naomi’s food is done, but I keep it under the heat lamp so it will stay warm while I wait for Royal’s.

Once his is done, I load up my tray and walk out. I slide Naomi’s food in front of her first, then slide Everleigh's to her. She beams at me and picks up one of her fries.

Royal has his eyes on Naomi while she is looking at me, but from her eye bolting to the corner I know she notices.

I give Royal his food and I walk behind the both of them where Terror is sitting, and he scoots over to make room for me so I can sit with him.

“You are an instigator,” he whispers in my ear, and I giggle.

I lick my lips and turn my attention to Terror, shrugging my shoulders. “I met you and you have made me feel a kind of happiness that I never knew existed. I want that for everyone,” I confess, my heart kind of aching from laying myself bare like this.

His face is softer than I have seen from him. He sighs and rests his forehead against mine. We are eye to eye, and just silently taking in a moment together. “You are who I have been waiting for, I knew the very fucking second I met you.”

My whole world spins at his words. I feel like my heart might burst and I might vomit at the same time from the extreme emotions I just got.

“Oh boy,” I whisper, and he chuckles. He lifts his head to kiss my forehead and no other words are needed.

How can you top that?

Hell, how can you top a man like Terror?
