Page 75 of Controlling Chloe

“Come up here. Chloe might have some information for us.”

I end the call and reach for some blankets to cover her legs. I don’t want anyone else seeing my girl’s creamy soft legs or the scars she feels so much shame over.

Only a few seconds pass before Declan, Killian, Alessandro, Andrei, Cage, Knox, Angel, and a man I’ve never met before file into the room.

I glance at the man I’ve never met, then look at Declan.

“This is Jasper. He’s Cage’s brother,” Declan explains.

Nodding, I hold my hand out and shake Jasper’s. If he works with Cage, I know we can trust him.

Killian runs his hand over Chloe’s head. “How are you feeling, Little one? Glad to see you awake.” She lets out a small hiss.

“Shit, did I hurt you? Fuck, Chloe, I’m so sorry.” Killian’s eyes are wide with fear as I growl at him.

“It’s okay. He pulled my hair, so my head is tender. I’m fine. Really. I forgot about that, and it didn’t hurt until you touched it.”

Anger bubbles low in my stomach. I take several deep and controlled breaths to calm myself. I know Killian didn’t intentionally hurt my girl, but Ronald’s already dead, and Killian isn’t, so it would make me feel better if I shot him. Chloe would be upset with me if I did that, though, so I’ll keep practicing this deep-breathing bullshit.

She must sense my inner turmoil because she scoots deeper into my arms until I practically have her cocooned. It’s her way of reassuring me, and it’s working. Fuck. I’m putty in my girl’s hands.

Killian’s expression has gone dark like he wishes he could go back and kill Ronald himself. “I’m sorry, sweet girl. I would never hurt you on purpose. Do you want an ice pack for it? Did the doctor check it out?”

“I’m good. Maybe I’ll get a cold pack later. Thank you, Killian,” she says sweetly, smiling up at him.

“You said Chloe had information?” Cage asks.

I wait for her to answer, but when she twists her fingers in my shirt, I start for her. “Her father said he was taking her to meet with the Red Dragons. He didn’t expand on that other than to say he was trading her to pay off his debt to them. Is that name familiar to any of you?”

Cage’s and Jasper’s eyes darken, their shoulders rigid.

“The Red Dragons are a gang. They sell hard drugs and guns. They’d gone quiet for a while after the leader and several members were killed. I assumed they had disbanded or left to run their business elsewhere. I haven’t had them on my radar,” Cage answers.

Knox lets out a low growl. “We’re the ones who took them out. One of them attacked and kidnapped my girl. When we found her in a rundown warehouse, she was locked in a cage with a dozen other women. We killed every one of them in the building that day and left them hanging by their feet as a message.”

I grin at Knox because fuck, these guys are as brutal as we are when the need is there.

“Any idea where to find them?” Andrei asks.

Jasper looks up from his phone. “Our brother, Caine, is sending me the information we have on them. Warehouse locations, hangouts, and the places they like to sell drugs.”

“Let’s go find them. And find out where all these missing women are,” Declan says.

I don’t budge. I almost lost my girl earlier, and while I hate to sit this out, I’m not leaving her side.

“Is it cool if I send Cali and Scarlet in here so you can keep an eye on them too?” Killian asks. “Maybe they can all watch a movie together. The bed is big enough for the three of them.”

Chloe does a little wiggle in my arms, and I chuckle because I know what she wants me to say. As if I would have ever said no in the first place.

“Of course. Have them get into their pajamas and get ready for bed. I’m going to take Chloe into the bathroom and give her a proper bath. Can someone get me another set of panties and a nightshirt for her?”

My girl’s hand tightens around my shirt, and when I glance down at her, her cheeks have turned pink. “Daddyyyy…” she whispers.

I wink at her and smile. She’ll get used to all of us taking care of her.

“On it,” Declan says as he disappears from the room.

Within seconds, all the men have filed out, leaving just the two of us. I need to get her in the bath, but I’m struggling to let her go at all. I just found the love of my life and then nearly lost her. If she thought I was over the top unhinged before, she has no idea what’s coming her way now.
