And why do I feel like I’ve done him wrong when he was just getting busy with someone?

God, sometimes, I hate myself.

“No problem. In fact, why don’t you take my seat?” Seth touches my arm. “Nice to meet you, Sonia.”

“You too.” I can’t bring myself to look at him.

I keep my eyes in the pool of swirly orange red Sex on the Beach as Edwin settles into the stool beside me. That headache is coming on faster than I expected.

“Flirting with Solomon’s son, are we?”

“I had no idea he was Solomon’s son.” My eyes stay glued to the glass.

“He’s been on a business trip the past month. Expanding his company.”

I drink my cocktail and lick my lips. “Good for him.”

Edwin leans toward me. Closer and closer. And I hate myself for noticing.

I hold my breath.

“It’s very unprofessional to flirt with customers, let alone members, Sonia.”

“You’re one to talk.”

Edwin chuckles in my ear, a dark rumble I wish I could feel pressed up against my inner thigh. “What are you talking about?”

I snap my attention at him, causing Edwin to straighten up too. “I just saw you go downstairs with?—”

Now you’ve done it, Sonia. You’ve proven you’re the jealous type. And you don’t even have a valid reason. He isn’t yours.

“Ah, so you saw me with another woman, and you got jealous.”

“No!” Okay, that sounded way more defensive than it needed to. “I’m just saying if you’re going to expect us to be professional, you should lead by example.”

Edwin lifts his chin, just a slight tilt, giving me a good view of his sharp jawline.

I want to feel his stubble scraping up against my face again, want to feel how raw it will make my thighs, want him to have my essence left behind on his beard so he can smell me all day.

God, this is so bad.

“You’re right. Good thing I wasn’t flirting with her.”

I scoff. “I saw you.”

Edwin grins. “You were watching me?”

The hole I’ve dug myself is so deep there’s no way I’m climbing out. “She was hanging on you, and you were smiling and whispering and–”

Edwin grabs my knee.

I gasp, marveling at the spot where his hand has connected with my skin.

Thank god the lip of the bar casts our lower bodies in shadow and the lights in the VIP lounge are too distracting for anyone to care about a man touching a woman’s knee.

“Sonia.”

I lift my head and stare into his onyx eyes.
