“There are too many people still missing. I can’t check every area alone. I need help. You know the building.”

“Where?”

“The observation rooms and submissives’ quarters.”

Without thinking, I nodded, grabbed the flashlight in his hand, and rushed inside.

I could hear Sophia shouting at me, but I knew what I had to do.

My heart pounded as every possible worst-case scenario passed through my head. A fire in a club like this could be disastrous. So many people were in compromising situations.

Dear God, if a complicated bondage configuration was in play, there wasn’t any way to unravel it quickly. The only options were industrial scissors, and that still took minutes. Minutes we more than likely didn’t have.

I turned a corner near the observation room and heard a scream.

“Get me down. Please. Hurry.”

Running in that direction, I found a submissive bound to a Saint Andrew’s Cross. Two people worked to release her arms from the cuffs that were holding them in place.

Not asking permission from the men standing before, I pushed them to the side and quickly released the tiny woman from the straps.

These idiots required more training.

“Why the fuck are you using equipment meant for more experienced Doms?”

That’s when my attention homed in on the submissive. I studied her long blonde hair, petite frame, and dark brown eyes. Oh shit. This was bad.

Lenora.

She was not only a club submissive but Master Jeremy’s wife. There was no way in hell he would have abandoned her.

I tucked my head under Lenora’s arm and caught her around the waist before lowering her.

“We were here for the demonstration,” one of the men explained.

“Where is Master Jeremy?”

“We don’t know. He was right there next to her. Then the room filled with smoke, and the lights went out.”

Worry crept in when I glanced down at Lenora, who’d grown quiet. Her eyes were closed, making me believe smoke inhalation had overcome her.

“Take her out of here.” I handed her to the larger of the guys. “Follow the hallway to the left and make sure the medical staff checks her out. I am going to see if I can find Master Jeremy.”

I scooted around the stage and searched the preparation areas without seeing if they listened. The beam from the flashlight only gave me a limited view of the area. I scanned the room and then caught the shadow of a shoe.

Pushing furniture out of the way, I reached the body. Identifying it was Jeremy, in a state of complete unconsciousness, I checked his vitals and then hauled him over my shoulder.

Jesus, he was a hell of a lot heavier than he looked. I staggered a bit under his weight and then managed to make it out in time to see four fire engines arrive.

A medic took hold of Jeremy from my hands, and without thought, I went in search of Sophia.

Where the hell was she?

Through the haze of smoke and people, I caught sight of Clark.

Running in his direction, I asked, “Where’s Sophia?”

He turned toward a group of people crowded in a circle and pointed and just as fast dropped his arm, a frown sliding over his features.
