“Good. Anything else?” Everyone shook their heads. “Okay. Go work, catch bad guys, all that crap. Tamilya, could I talk to you for a minute?”
She nodded. “What time did you say we would meet his contact?” she asked Marcus.
“We have another hour, so plenty of time.”
She followed Del into his office. “Shut the door, would you?”
She nodded and shut the door. He sat behind his desk, and she took one of the two chairs in front of his desk.
“How long have you known Harry?”
“A few years.”
“I take it you were involved with him.”
She nodded.
“Can you give me an idea of what he’s like?”
“Hard worker, job always came first with him. Committed to doing the right thing. I used to call him Captain America because of his need to always put others first.”
“But?”
“What?”
“You have some worries about him.”
She shook her head. “I’m just wondering where he fits into a team like TFH.”
“Ah, okay. I haven’t told the team, but the governor wants us to fill out the team some more. They want divisions.”
“Divisions?”
“Yeah, or I should say maybe smaller teams. They definitely want us to start off with a Search and Rescue group. We would all still work together. I do need someone to lead training and be the POC for the HPD, but where we do training for investigative work, they would concentrate more on new search and rescue techniques.”
“And you want Harry to help with that?” He nodded. “Well, he would be excellent. I know that it was one of his favorite parts of the job.”
“Anything else?”
“Well, he is a bit of a workaholic, then again, that’s pretty much the team.”
He smiled. “True.”
“You need to go home, boss.”
“I will after I do this briefing with the mayor and governor. I plan on sleeping for a day.”
“Anything else?”
He shook his head.
“You don’t want to ask about my relationship with Harry?”
“No. That’s your personal business. Just keep any issues out of work.”
People said things like that, but she never knew anyone who really believed that but Del. It was one of the things she liked most about working for him. “No problem.”
“Let me know what you and Floyd find out.”
