“Well, you heard him. That means after an hour of being in here, we get to eat, or at least grab and go.”

“Thank God,” Cat said.

They walked together out the door and he glanced at Tamilya.

“Are you okay?”

She nodded. “Just damned hungry.”

“I hear you.”

They made their way out to the TFH tent where Del was eating.

“You’re still eating, man?” Marcus said with a laugh.

“Just started. They made me go talk to the cameras.”

“Aw, boss, the media loves you,” Adam said, he looked at Tamilya and Marcus. “Grab some food, then go on over to the concert hall. They want to do a more careful search over there. All that seating is making it difficult.”

“I’ll do anything as long as I get something to eat,” Tamilya said.

They lined up, filled their plates. It didn’t take them long to finish and be on their way. They kept their teams as Del had ordered and headed off to work. He just hoped that, in the end, this was just some idiot with too much time on his hands and gunpowder to spare.

It was well after midnight as they drove back to TFH. They’d found little evidence, other than the haul she and Graeme had found earlier in that first room. As far as she knew, no one had stepped forward to take credit for the attack.

“I’m going to sleep for a bloody week,” Graeme said.

She laughed as she heard her phone ping with a text.

Are you home? Are you dead? This is your mother.

There was no way to hide the news from her parents, and they weren’t intrusive, but she hadn’t updated them in a few hours.

Not home. Not dead. This is your daughter.

Smartass. Love you.

Love you.

“Family?” he asked.

“Yeah, my mom. I thought she would be in bed, but I should have known better. Did you talk to your mom?”

He nodded. “Elle’s been keeping her updated, along with her parents.”

He yawned and stretched his arms over his head. “I’m getting too bloody old for this.”

“Never,” she said, then yawned herself. He started laughing.

“What’s so funny?” Autumn asked as she walked into the room.

“Nothing. We’re just tired.”

“I completely understand that. I think we’re all a little punch drunk from the day.”

Marcus returned with Adam.

“So, Del said no one needs to come in until after ten unless the FBI requests us. I assume they will do most of the investigation, but they might need back up. Also, we’re going to need you two,” Adam said talking to Tamilya and Marcus, “to go make sure there are no links. At least when they give us any evidence.”
