“Well, grab your coffee and then come take a look at the other view.” She points at the window next to the table and I curse under my breath. “Right?” she says. “I can’t get over it. I mean, your view is incredible too, so you’re used to this…”

“But it’s different. Both are spectacular.”

She nods and sits down, while I pour a cup of coffee. When I walk over to the table, I kiss her cheek before I sit down.

“Thanks for breakfast and for coming here with me. I can’t believe I slept until ten.”

“I can’t either. I was sure you’d wake up at your normal time.”

“I went back to sleep.”

“Do you ever pretend like you’re on vacation in Landmark Mountain?”

“What do you mean?”

She shrugs. “Like go stay at the lodge, go exploring?”

“I love the lodge, but I guess it doesn’t feel like a vacation as much when you know everyone working there. Maybe it’d be fun, I don’t know. I used to spend more time there as a kid, but life got busy when I started the ranch. I hike often. Usually alone, sometimes with Theo and Fred. My brothers and I ski regularly. I’ve missed a couple trips up the mountain since a certain someone has been occupying my mind.”

Her cheeks flush. “I don’t want to keep you from doing what you normally do.” Her tone is way too concerned for the playful way I was trying to get that across.

“Ruby, being with you is what I want to do. Have I not made that clear?”

I slide my foot against hers and up her leg when she grins at me shyly.

“You’ve maybe made it kind of clear.” Her foot slides up my leg and I fist my napkin.

“I’ll have to work on that,” I say through my teeth when her foot rubs over my dick once and then again very slowly. “Do you like to ski?” My voice is a little higher than usual and her eyes crinkle up as she tries not to laugh.

I’m just trying my damnedest to not make her think I’man asshole who can only think about sex twenty-four hours a day. She’s making it fucking difficult.

“I love it. At home I never went as often as I wanted, but I do love it.”

“Would you like to ski today? Or shop or hike? Or…whatever I haven’t thought of…”

“I’m happy whatever we do,” she says, her foot doing another detour around my crotch. “I just like being here with you.”

“You like seeing what you do to me, don’t you?”

“I love it,” she whispers.

“I’m taking you out of this house today,” I tell her. “I can’t bring you all the way here and not show you something besides this.” I grab her foot and press it against me.

Her mouth parts and then she pouts. “But it’s my favorite.”

I choke out a laugh. “You’re killing me, Sunshine. You’re looking so cute today. Eat up and let’s go find some fun.”

She rolls her eyes as she smirks. “Whatever.” In the next second, her hand hits the table. “The farmer’s market! Were you supposed to be there tomorrow?”

I nod, as I finish chewing. “Yeah, but Theo and Sof are taking it, and depending on the timing, they might alternate with Hilary and Abby when we go to Utah.”

“You thought of everything. You bring the fun wherever you go, Callum,” she says, trying so hard to keep a straight face.

I narrow my eyes, pointing at her. “You’rethe fun one. I’m not really known for bringing the fun to any occasion.”

Her head falls back as her laugh fills the villa, and I stare at her in awe.

“And you’re sassy on vacation,” I add.
