I laugh. “You say that like it’s a hardship.”

“It is! It’s been exhausting.”

“Well, let me exhaust you in other ways,” I whisper. “And please, always stay for dinner.”

CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

WRONG SIDE OF EVERYTHING

FELICITY

Weston calls while we’re cleaning up and I’m about to ignore it when Sutton says, “Take it. I’ll finish this.”

“I don’t want to leave you with a mess.”

“It’s hardly anything. And you made dinner, I should clean up.”

I smile at him and wave at Grinny and Owen before I walk outside, answering the call.

“Hey. We’ve been playing phone tag,” he says. “How ya been?”

“I’m great. The question is, how areyou? Are you still somewhere up in the clouds?”

He laughs. “Yes and no. It’s been insane. So much press, and the coach is not letting up on us for a second.”

“I’ve seen you in a few interviews. You’ve done great. Some of them get a little personal.” I laugh.

He groans. “I’m so tired of all the interviews, but it’s just part of it. I feel like I’m repeating myself though.”

I open the door to my place and sit down on the couch, propping my feet up, but quickly move to lie on my side. My backside is feeling tingly where Sutton’s hands have been, in the best way.

“Well, they seem to love whatever you’re saying. ‘Oh, you are so funny and so intelligent,’” I say, mocking the last interviewer he talked to on a popular sports show.

He laughs. “She was hot.”

“Mm-hmm. She thought you were too, which is so gross to see on national television, by the way…watching your brother flirt.”

“I was just being nice,” he says. “She was the one flirting. Thank you for reminding me though—she gave me her number.”

“I knew it!” I cackle and he laughs too.

“Okay, enough. I’m calling to see if you want to bring anyone with you to the Super Bowl.”

“Really?” He’s said he has extra tickets between what they’ve given him and what he’s bought, but I thought he might run out with all his friends.

“Yeah. I’ve got two extra—I wish there were more, but they’re yours if you want them.”

“Thanks, West. I know Jamison and Scarlett are already going, which will be fun. Can I let you know for sure who I’m bringing tomorrow?”

“Sure. Let me know. I’ve already reserved two-bedroom suites at the hotel, so you’ll either have a massive one to yourself, or there are two bedrooms if you bring guests.”

“You’re such a good brother,” I squeal.

“I purposely called youafterOlivia, so I could balance out your love with her hate,” he says, laughing.

“Ugh. She needs to find a man…or a woman. Something to chill her out.”

“Agreed. It’s like happiness angers her.” There’s noise in the background and he yells that he’ll be right there. “I’ve gotta run. We’re gonna go find some fun.”
