“Thanks, Dad.” He wipes his nose on the back of his hand, and I point to the tissues next to the bed.

“Why don’t you go grab one of those tissues and then wash your hands? We don’t want to spread germs in Miss Felicity’s clean room.”

“Do I have to call her Miss Felicity? She didn’t say that the other day,” Owen says, hopping up to do what I asked.

“I’ll leave that up to her.”

“Will she be here soon? I’m ready for her to get here.” He stands in front of me and looks lighter already, his excitement about Felicity back in full force.

I glance at my watch and nod. “Pretty soon. Why don’t we head to the house so we hear when she arrives?”

Owen bounds to the door and we jog down the stairs, just as a car and SUV pull into the driveway.

Proof that I’ve been too preoccupied with thoughts of Felicity since seeing her for the first time: I forgot all about her brotherbeing Weston fucking Shaw, the best quarterback the Mustangs have had in years, until he steps out of the SUV and walks toward me.

It’s still not enough to distract me from his beautiful sister heading my way.

CHAPTER FIVE

TWERPS AND BACKSIDES

FELICITY

Sutton and Owen are there to meet us when we get to the house. I practically swallow my tongue when I see Sutton in jeans and a black sweater. Saturday Sutton is even hotter than Tuesday Sutton and I didn’t think that one could get any better.

Owen is the first to reach me, and he’s adorable with his wide smile, hazel eyes that light up his whole face, and long, dreamy eyelashes.

“Hi, Felicity,” he says excitedly. “Or should I call you Miss Felicity?”

“Absolutely not,” I say, laughing. “Call me Felicity. And this is my brother, Weston.”

“Hi, Weston,” he says. “Wait.Weston Shaw?”

“That’s me.” Weston laughs. “Nice to meet you, Owen.” He holds out his fist and bumps it against Owen’s.

Owen stares at Weston in shock and glances over at his dad. “Wow.”

Sutton smiles at him and Weston and then at me. “Afternoon, Felicity.”

I say something resembling a hello. I’ve been a nervous wreck since Weston insisted on coming to help me get settled into my “apartment.” I then had to clarify that it was just a room over a garage, specificallySutton’sgarage.

I am not cut out for all this covert behavior.

Reason number six hundred and seventy-nine that I am not cut out to be a lawyer.

Sutton reaches out to shake Weston’s hand. “Sutton Landmark. It’s nice to meet you, Weston Shaw. Thank you for making it fun to watch the Mustangs again. My son and I are big fans as you can probably tell.”

“Thanks, man.” Weston’s smile is easy, completely unaware that I’m over here freaking out about my whole cover getting blown.

Owen bounces up and down. “I cannot believe I’m meeting Weston Shaw,” he says in one fast, breathless sentence. “This issocool.”

Weston chuckles and Owen is still looking up at Weston like he’s going to preserve this moment in time forever.

And Suttonisa football fan. We didn’t talk about it during either interview, so I wasn’t sure. Since being back in Colorado, anyone who hears my name for the first time asks if I’m related to Weston Shaw. Since Henley is also on the team and is the one who told me about this job, I should’ve realized Sutton already knew I was Weston’s sister.

“We’ve got a great team this year. I couldn’t do it without my guys,” Weston says.

“Henley Ward is a friend of mine, and he doesn’t say anything negative about anyone…but I can tell you he’s fuu—reaking happy you’re giving him something to work with.” Sutton chuckles, glancing over at Owen.
